Choosing Faith

When I lost my very first job abroad circa 2002 , instead of wallowing in self pity, I served my community in Dubai- the Singles for Christ then. I re-focused and devoted my time and energy in knowing Him through service in our little community.

I will never forget what ate Angie told me then that " When God asked you to put something down, it is because He wanted you to pick up something greater".

Those encouraging words led me to believe and trust in His timings.

It wasn't long after that I found a much better job- Office manager in a yachting company.

But you know, losing a client in a challenging month is not easy, but I was reminded by God of my experience 22 years ago.

And applied the very same principle , instead of whining and whimpering , I trusted Him.

Voila! This happened.. never really expected.

Thank you Jesus for your surprise to my aching heart.

Thank you to my generous clients - Mam Joy and Sir Khen for this wonderful opportunity to explore Japan.

It was only a dream a few months ago when I asked Dale about it , but now it is really happening.

Choosing Compassion

There will come a time when you are tested for what you preach and for what you pray for in moments of silence and solitude.

And that one moment happened to me very recently.

I'm excited for the month of July because I have 2 big weddings. The first one is I have been coordinating for almost a year and the other less than six months.

The first wedding has been canceled less than a month prior. And it was a big blow for me.
I was dumbfounded when the couple informed me.

I did not ask. I just did what I have to do- inform all the wedding suppliers booked and tried my best to at least get a minimal refund of what they have paid. But of course, naturally in our line of business- refund to a closer date is impossible. I understand the supplier's sentiment , period. And secondly, it is stipulated in the contract that refund is not possible if the event is canceled a month prior.
It is a fair deal.

But I did not. I chose to stay with them until everything has been settled and I didn't ask any further payment albeit I am 90% through with my work.

Altruism in our line work is not present. But I still chose compassion.

I chose to be compassionate because I love my clients. I love them. They may not know how hard up I am at this time but for me it is the right thing to do.

My clients I'm sure are also in an impossible situation. A little kindness will go a long way.

During my discernment, I was reminded of God's loving mercy and grace.

Sabi ko sarili ko kahit kailangan ko pa ng pera Lord, I just couldn't insist on my additional payment .

And I will fulfill my duty until the very end. And I did.

Where do I go from here? Well , if one door closes , another will open for sure.

There are no lost opportunity for me but there are valuable lessons learned.

Just sharing their respective message to me.
I will not mention their name to protect their privacy.
