Here we see Bamu Yubumu, the Chinese woman who became a symbol of resilience in the face of extreme hardship and poverty. In 2010, this iconic picture of her and her baby became viral on the internet.

In the shot, which was entitled, "Baby, Mother Takes You Home," Bamu was preparing to go on a 2,000 kilometer journey from Nanchang, where she worked in a brick factory, to Yuexi.

The typical Chinese person prioritizes success in the rat race above everything else. They are willing to do whatever to advance in life's competitive environment. This is unbridled ambition, and it forms the bedrock of the society.

They are undaunted by anything, not even by social norms or politeness, physical limitations, and occasionally, even legal boundaries.

This is why Chinese people always seem to rise to the top of each society they enter. We, Filipinos, can learn a thing or two.

More than 700 million poor Chinese did not escape poverty thanks solely to the efforts of the Chinese government. The Chinese people themselves were instrumental in making this happen. These people did not rely on ayuda; they relied on their gargantuan ambition to rise to the top. Because being poor in Chinese culture is viewed as embarrassing.
