On this day in 2019, Bita and The Botflies released their debut album, Peklat Cream.

An 8-track record that explores – with the female perspective – the dark and dreadful realities of women and their struggles, starting strong with the hit track 'Sisikat Ka Iha' with its creepy effects and horrendous lyrics about the objectification and exploitation of women in the entertainment industry written through the perspective of a predator, and then with the groovy sounding but murderous lyricism of 'Chop Chop Blues', a track with Ian Lofamia and 'Tagu-Taguan' both track tells the story of a woman who has been cheated on and gets her revenge, the album also presented the dangers of drug addiction with 'Annie and Ricky' through the narrative of a woman who slowly deteriorates with her lover through substance abuse, and then the title track 'Peklat Cream' that tells us the harsh reality of domestic violence and the struggles that its victims — who are mostly women — go through, the track's music video was directed by Kevin Dayrit and starred by Chynna Ortaleza which gained a nomination for the category of 'Rock Video of The Year' in MYX Awards 2020, but through these dark themes, there's still a light at the end of the tunnel, the album also explores the woman as a lover, with the track 'Manghuhula' with its bold and daring lyrics, and finally the closer track 'Tumilapon, Pulutin' with its sugar-coated lyricism and production that screams 'head over heels' where Sofy got herself screaming in catharsis for an endless love story.
