ATM | Women advocates Atty. Salma Pir Rasul, Program Director of the Philippine Center for Islam and Democracy, Ms. Earl Paolo, Founder and Executive Director of A Women’s Forum, and Atty. Beverly Jane Bulanday, Litigation Lawyer and Senior Legal Content Editor of Thomson Reuters Philippines participated in a panel discussion on vital issues concerning women.

Women, as described by Atty. Rasul, are willing to compromise and no ego comes to play during conflict. In terms of resolution, women are inherently peacemakers and mediators.

Per Atty. Bulanday, what is unique in women is they can use their gender strength in giving solutions to problems; they approach problems in a peaceful manner.

Women have no limit in their role in peacebuilding, as stated by Ms. Paolo. Women are in equal likeness and dignity with men, and the community have to understand and acknowledge the skills and capacities of women in conflict resolution.
