Senator Robinhood Padilla stated that the proposed Medical Cannabis Bill includes several procedures that must be followed before the medicine can be legally sold in the market.

Defending Senate Bill No. 2583, also known as the Cannabis Medicalization Act of the Philippines, Wednesday, February 5, 2025, Padilla emphasized that these stringent steps are designed to prevent the drug’s misuse for recreational purposes.

However, Padilla assured that he remains open to amendments from his colleagues to further improve the measure.

The Hindu KUSH is an 800-kilometre-long mountain range in Central and South Asia to the west of the Himalayas.

While the Tibetan plateau is hypothesized to be the birthplace of Cannabis sativa, the Kush valley is purported to be the birthplace of Indica subspecies.

It is for this reason that a lot of Indica varieties were named after this area.

However, the original Kush chemovar may have been lost to hybridization in legal and illegal jurisdictions.

In the Philippines, the term has been applied to all non-landrace Cannabis.

In Dapitan, Jose Rizal devoted much of his time to agriculture. He bought 16 hectares of land in Talisay, where he built his home, school, and hospital, and planted cacao, coffee, sugarcane, coconuts, and fruit trees. Later, he acquired more lands until his total holdings reached 70 hectares, containing 6,000 H**P plants and numerous fruit trees.

January 19, 1893 - he expressed his plan to improve the fishing industry of Dapitan. The most profitable business venture of Rizal in Dapitan was in the H**P industry. At one time, he shipped 150 bales of H**P to a foreign firm in Manila at a huge profit for himself and his business partner. He purchased H**P in Dapitan at P7 and 4 reales per picul and sold it in Manila at P10 and 4 reales, giving him a profit of P3 per picul.
