Hi! I’m Shiela, a wedding photographer and owner of My Handheld Stories.

What I love about what I do is that I can relate to the brides I photograph, being a female photographer who has also experienced getting married. I understand that this is a once in a lifetime event filled with emotions, excitement, nervousness, and overwhelming joy. Because I have been in their shoes, I know how important it is to capture not just the big moments but also the small, fleeting ones, the quiet anticipation before walking down the aisle, the way their hands shake slightly while holding their vows, or the teary eyed smiles shared with loved ones. My goal is to document these moments in a way that allows them to relive the emotions of their wedding day for years to come, which works really well because our style of shooting a celebration is candid, natural, and heartfelt.

Here’s how we make it work:

💄 5 Hours for Prep: We capture real moments of excitement as you get ready this includes taking photos of the details, pre-gown shoot, groom dress-up, family portraits, entourage photos, and solo portraits.

💍 2 Hours for the Ceremony: Most wedding ceremonies last about an hour, but we allocate two hours to ensure we capture everything, from walking down the aisle to saying 'I do,' including emotional moments and meaningful exchanges. This also allows time for post-ceremony group pictures with family and friends.

📸 1 Hour for Post-Nuptials: Quick but meaningful couple portraits, bridal party shots, and scenic highlights—no endless posing! We want to let you enjoy your first moments as husband and wife while capturing candid, heartfelt photos that reflect your joy and love.

🎉 2 Hours for the Reception: From your grand entrance to your final speech, we cover it all—genuine laughter, heartfelt speeches, and lively celebrations that truly reflect the energy and joy of your special day.

This 8–10 hour coverage is a wedding standard, but we’re always happy to discuss options for shorter or longer coverage to fit your needs and vision. Let’s chat and make sure your day is captured just the way you imagine it!
