The jazz photography exhibit opens 11:30AM on April 30, 2022 at Kusinata, Don Salvador Benedicto.

Nicky Ledesma

Visual Artist Nicky Ledesma's journey in photography started off as a hobby in the seventies with mentor former Governor Lito Coscolluella introducing him to the work of Ansel Adams who was renowned for featuring nature's monuments. Since then, he honed his skills by covering University activities and eventually started making a name in the industry in 1979 through the Cultural Days Photography Contest of his alma mater besting other school-trained competitors.
Nicky soon found himself pioneering the Camera Club of Negros and proudly continues, to this day, to showcase the beauty of both Negros Occidental and Oriental. Nicky's eye and vision will be on full display at Jazz in Paradise as the featured Jazz Photo Exhibit showcases his one-of-a-kind captures of jazz moments he has witnessed with nature's paradise as its background.

April 30, 2022 shall be a unique blend of mainstream, to modern. While there are beboppers and latino players, here's the next gen... Kiko Ramos.

Kiko Ramos

Kiko Ramos, known through his SoundCloud under the moniker OKIK, is a producer/DJ who loves to set the mood with a collection of hiphop, rnb, future beats, house, disco, a few classic gems, and some of his original tunes as well.

He has played alongside familiar names in the industry such as Curtismith, CRWN, Butta B, Arthur Tan, Thrones, Dante & Amigo, and a whole lot more. He has also played for notable brands, a few of which are Johnny Walker, Bacardi, and San Miguel Pale Pilsen.

Other than his frequent edits on Soundcloud, OKIK released his first beat tape, Stay Mellow Vol. 1, last November 2021 on Spotify, Apple Music, Soundcloud and other streaming platforms. He also produced Splash by Curtismith back in 2017 which has accumulated more than 450,000 streams today. Having been in the Soundcloud scene since 2014, he has racked up more than 250,000 plays.

Paul Chatman

Paul Chatman played music beginning at age 8 with violin and flute. His saxophone life began at 13 when he started playing many local and state competitions.
His professional career began at 16 touring with bassist Bill Laswell.
Through the years Paul has shared stages with many artist in the USA but his greatest personal highlight was playing on stage as a guest with Cannonball Adderly in the early 70's.

La Salle's Golden Voice Concert of Champions. 6:30PM Sept. 11, 2017. 15 champs in singing, ( 2003 to 2016) are joining and coming home to their alma mater in Bacolod, to perform, and be accompanied by the Vivace Strings orchestra and De La Salle Chorale ( world champ 2011 and 2017), with the Musikat Band, and for the upbeat numbers with the Jean Baptiste Company dancers. I think this is a world class musical event that's not gonna happen again in so many years. And what's great, all proceeds of this concert goes to the scholarship fund for young La Sallian artists. They are the next gen!
