The Shocking Truth About Wedding Scammers – What Every Couple Needs to Know!
"At Paano nga ba ito maiiwasan?"

In my 13 years sa wedding industry na witness ko na yata almost lahat ng mga possibleng mangyari sa wedding event, before the wedding at after the wedding, since yung ibang client they add me as a friend in FB, well i know kasama yun sa pag iinvestigate nila and that's totally fine wala naman tayong tinatago.

Bago ang shocking truth ishe-share ko muna ang:

Top 3 reasons of wedding cancellation (Client Side)

1. Nag away dahil sa preparation ng wedding ayun nauwi sa hiwalayan
2. Nag cheat ang groom (yes minsan na la-love at first sight pa sa coordinator kaya mas mainam yung may edad na coordinator ang makuha niyo)
3. Nakakita ng mas murang supplier

Yung # 3 ang delikadong mauwing victim ng wedding scam at ito ang dahilan:

Simula nung natapos ang pandemic, parang kabute nag sulputan ang mga wedding organizers at catering, offering ng sobrang baba na mga packages halimbawa itong isang nakita ko "45K Wedding Package" uy catchy! pero kami mismo nag tataka sa ganun kababang price ano ang iseserve nila? burger at juice? Hindi ko naman masisi ang mga ito dahil sa hirap ng buhay gagawin nila lahat ng raket na pwede pasukin. Hindi nila naiisip na may standard costing ang isang wedding event gaya ng mga ito

1. Manpower: 12-16 (Kitchen staff, waiters at driver) na tao ang kailangan mag trabaho para sa 100pax at 8-10 na tao naman para sa 50pax event

2. Raw materials, back in 2015 around 20-25k na ang cost ng raw materials (meat and mga ingredients)para sa 100pax event. Kayo na bahala mang hula kung magkano na inaabot ngayon.

3. Transportation, ito ang isang masakit sa budgeting dito sa area namin 60 per liter ang pinakamura sa diesel, Kapag nag expressway at skyway Class 2 po ang category ng truck. At kasama pa sa budget ang pang lagay sa traffic enforcer dahil mainit sa mata ang mga truck madalas itong pinapara sa kung ano anong dahilan. Ito ang dahilan bakit nag chacharge ng transportation fee kapag outside Metro Manila. Tapos may iilang organizer FREE Transportation Tagaytay pa.(Markahan niyo na ng pulang bandila)

4. Water, electricity, Gas: Althoughh monthly naman ito kailangan parin itong isama sa costing dahil we're doing business.

Truth #1: Dahil sa lack of experience ng organizer or ng catering hindi nila naiisip na ang binayad sa kanila ay kukulangin na para sa actual costing ng event.
Wala naman talaga planong mang scam si wedding organizer hindi lang niya inexpect na ganun ang mangyayari.

"OK, pero si ganito po nirefer samin ng friend namin trusted po namin siya iilan na rin sa friends namin ang nahandle niya, pero bakit pag dating samin walang dumating na photo and video."

Truth #2: Dahil sa sobrang baba ng offer ng organizer, obligado siyang maghanap pa ng ibang cliente para ma-cover up yung kulang na budget kay client #1. Problem solved! pero pano si client # 2 edi lalong bawas na ang budget niya? Exactly. Maghahanap nanaman siya ng iba pang client to cover up yung budget ni client #2 and so on ikot ikot lang to'. OK naman pala e, so sino ang ma-i-SCAM dito ?

Truth #3: Sa event industry may tinatawag na ghost month kung saan may mga buwan talaga na konti ang demand or konti ang nagpapakasal at nag eevent, maliban sa ghost month ay hindi naman din araw araw ang event. So the time hindi makakuha ng client si organizer malaki ang chance macompromise ang huling cliente na nasa listahan. Gantong ganto ang dahilan kung bakit nag tago na si organizer dahil naipit na sya sa sitwasyon.

Ano ang gagawin mo kung ikaw ay na scam?
1. Bago ka pumunta kay tulfo o bago ka mag video na umiiyak, pumunta ka muna sa police station at mag pa blotter.

"At Paano nga ba ito maiiwasan?"

Kapag nag research ka sa google ito ang mga isasagot sayo:

1. Ask for recommendation
2. Do your research online
3. Be very vigilant
4. Ask for official receipt and contract

Alright, pwede pwede. Well, sabi yan ng isang writer ng news company.

Remember sa example ko ni recommend na sya ng mga friends pero na scam niya yung huling client. In short hindi enough itong sagot ni google. Sa panahon ngayon ang dami na marunong at magagaling mag pataas ng presence nila online kaya hindi yan guarantee na hindi ka ma-i-iscam. Yung official receipt and contract hindi rin guarantee yan kase nga wala namang intention mang scam si organizer kaya most likely legit ang business niya with all documents mula government hindi lang talaga niya alam dahil lack of experience siya na maiipit siya sa budget.

So ano nga ang best gawin?

Do a background check.
Kung ang bank meron KYC (know your customer), dapat naman as a customer meron ka din KYS (know your supplier)

So paano nga?

1. Puntahan mo sa bahay at dun kayo mag meeting.

"bakit hindi office? parang hindi naman pormal." ang office ay isang property na inuupahan lang, meaning sa time na maipit iiwanan lang niya ang opisina.
"pano kung yung bahay ay inuupahan din?" kung ganun markahan mo na rin ito ng pulang bandila dahil ibig sabihin dagdag sa monthly expenses niya ang renta ng property bukod pa madali nga lang niya itong iiwanan sa oras na maipit siya.

2. Alamin mo kung may iba pang negosyo si organizer.

importante ito dahil ito ang mapagkukuhaan niya ng source para masuportahan ang budget sa event.
kung ang pag eevent lang ang tanging source ng income niya consider this as red flag. "Eh paano kung malakas naman siya mag event?" Remember yung money cycle hindi mo alam kung saan siya maiipit. Gantong ganto ang kwento ng isang organizer na kahit nung pandemic ang lakas lakas niya mag event. Dating OFW pa ang asawa umuwi at binuhos sa pag invest ng mga gamit ang naipong pera, dumami ang cliente at sobrang na overwhelm ang mag-asawang organizer, dumami ang travels, latest gadgets at inulit ang pagpapakasal nila ng sobrang bongga sa beach pa! wow! wedding of the century ang datingan. Next thing we know viral na sila sa tulfo.

3. Lifestyle check mo, frequent traveller ba ito? mahilig sa luxury? red flag mo na yan.
Ito ang number 1 fomula ng failure gaya ng nangyari sa kwento ko sa itaas.

4. Check mo if reasonable ang package price.

Masyado bang mababa para sayo?
kung halimbawa nag offer ng 88k kagaya nito reasonable ba? if wala naman venue na kasama, walang invitation, walang cake then the price is reasonbable.

Nataasan ka ba sa 88k?
Punta ka muna ng bridal fair para makapag research ka at ma compare. Magdala kana rin ng pera magaling sila magpa on the spot downpayment dun.

5. E paano kung gusto ko talaga magarbo at elegante maarte din ako sa food e pero hindi ako maalam sa steak?
Simple ang sagot dito punta ka ng mga five star hotel at doon mo gawin ang wedding mo, ang kaso lang walang styling ito maghahanap ka pa talaga ng stylist mo, iba ibang tao rin ang kakausapin mo para sa supplier mo simula sa host, coordinator, photo and video, cake, bridal car, photobooth at iba iba pa. ibig sabihin isa sa mga yan possible parin magkaroon ka ng problema.

"Hindi naman pala talaga ako mahilig sa steak, yung mga kamag anak ko lang yun kaya sa Vikings nalang kami ay hindi Tramway nalang pala."
Ikaw bahala, kasal mo yan e. Pero isang problema dito sa mga buffet na reception ay ang oras, sobrang higpit nila sa oras dito para ka lang nag celebrate ng birthday mo. Wala din malasakit dito ang mga waiters ibang iba ang serbisyo dito dahil sa pagod na sila sa hindi na mabilang ang tao na pinagserbisyuhan nila sa araw na yun. Nakakahiya naman sa ninong niyong Mayor este General kung kailangan na din agad umalis dahil sa limitadong oras ng venue. Pero again kasal mo yan e desisyon mo yan.

FINAL TIP:
Huwag mo gawing komplikado ang kasal mo ma-iistress ka lang.
