Shaping Futures in the Philippines Hairdresser Training concludes with a spectacular Hair Styling Recital and Fashion Show at the SM City Lipa Event Center. The show entitled, “Pamumukadkad” or “blossoming” meant so much for the student trainees who like a flower demonstrated their growth from the training to the show, where they take their creativity to a different level. They crafted different bun hairstyles to complement the modern Filipiniana.

A group of designers, models and makeup artists collaborate to support the mission of SOS Children’s Villages Pilipinas and Schwarzkopf Professional for youth empowerment and sustainable employment. Touch of Ada Events Management Services by Mr. Romar Ada led the show as a testament to the promising future the industry offers. The runway showcased a stunning collection of modern Filipiniana garments skillfully fashioned by prominent designers in the city of Lipa.

Omorfia Group, a leading personal care and beauty company abroad and David’s Salon, the largest chain of salons in the country offered the training course finishers, SOS young people and care providers with job opportunities.

Mr. Ramon Lee Cualoping III Chief Executive Officer & National Director of SOS, congratulates the course finishers and encouraged them to inspire their fellow to dream big and work hard. Mr. Cualoping also expressed the organization’s gratitude to Schwarzkopf Professional for being a partner in giving hope a chance.

Trainers from Schwarzkopf Professional were fulfilled with the entire volunteering experience at SOS-Hermann Gmeiner National Training Center. They admire how the 18 students blossom with their acquired hairdressing knowledge and skills. Mr. Kaisimon Goerlitz, Schwarzkopf Global Manager CSR & Sustainability delivered the closing message by commending the students and looking forward to many years of partnership with SOS to broaden the program’s social impact for future generations.

Shaping Futures Hairdresser training program is now on its 10th year in the Philippines. Schwarzkopf Professional has been a valuable partner of SOS Children’s Villages Philippines in empowering youth and care providers with skills and opportunities towards sustainable employment.

This year, eighteen students embark on the journey of learning the craft of hairdressing. In the span of six weeks, hair experts who are actually volunteers from different countries shall provide the students a firm foundation in all the basic hairdressing techniques including consultation, cutting, coloring and styling.

The wait is finally over! We proudly present the Henkel Shaping Futures Hairdressing Training video. In behalf of SOS Children's Villages Philippines, we would like to thank Fritz Henkel Stiftung Foundation and Schwarzkopf Professional for the continued partnership to empower our youth and care providers through this project.

We are also equally grateful to the volunteer trainers for wholeheartedly sharing their hairdressing expertise throughout the six-week training program; and every organization and individual who participated towards the successful conduct of the Hair Fashion Show.

Finally, we also offer our appreciation to Bedashing Beauty Lounge and Tips and Toes company for conducting career guidance activities among the program graduates.
