You are surrounded by DASTAN (stories) every day. From the stories portrayed in painting or in news on television, radio, and in the newspaper, business success or failure, stressful life, social issues, religious books, lessons at school or sung in a song, Pictures, Movies, Comedians making up their routines in story, to the bedtime stories told to young children read out by mothers; as
long as there have been people, there have been stories. Some Dastan’s have lasted hundreds and even thousands of years and are still being told. Dastan began with the oral tradition, meaning they were passed on by being heard and retold. Later, people began to write the Dastan down, but we still love to hear Dastan (stories) told out loud. They can teach morals, values, history. They can entertain us. They can make us think about things in ways we’ve never thought of them before. They can make us laugh. They can make us cry. Established in the year 2016, DASTAN is Event Management Initiative, where we work to redefine tradition, promote arts and culture and enlighten the masses in Pakistan.
