RIO THEATRE PROFILE Since its inception from 1979, the success story of presently known as Rio Theatre, locally as well as internationally, reveals continuous, tireless and concerted efforts, hard work and commitment of its most energetic and efficient team. It will not be out of place to mention here the name of the Founder of the Rio Theatre and the living legend of the showbiz world in terms of organizing and promoting gigantic programs, is Saeed Islam. Saeed Islam took initiative alone in the show biz and organized his ever first drama Biwi Ka Ghulam, in Dhanak Hall, in 1979. Immediately after its successful achievement, he launched his next drama, Dulha MB100 staged in the Navy Club, Saddar Karach, written by Zulqarnain Haider with the then well known cast introducing today’s prominent Producer, Director and versatile actor, Javed Sheikh, Salomi, Zeba Shehnaz, Tara, Khalid Nizami, under the direction of Late Razzaq Raju. The journey of Rio Theatre continued with consecutive success from 1980 to 1984 during which period various commercial dramas were organized in Adamjee Hall, like Shadi Ho to Aisi – 64 shows; Susral Bara Janjal and teen Yakky, etc, with the then versatile actors. It is worth mentioning that in 1984, Saeed Islam, the Chief Organizer established The Rio Auditorium after getting Rio cinema on contract where he commenced his another endeavor in the world of showbiz and started organizing fascinating musical programs on commercial basis. It was an honor for the Rio Auditorium to organize and conduct the ever popular show Nilam Ghar hosted by Tariq Aziz which continued for persistently long time. Another emerging program for children namely, Sang Sang Chaley, hosted by Sohail Rana was also conducted. In this Rio Auditorium, a Sindhi Program, Sindh Singhar, directed by Qasim Jalali was staged. After the consecutive successful achievements in the Rio Auditorium, he laid the foundation of a unique institution in the world of showbiz under the banner of Rio Theatre. Apart from domestic level, Rio Theatre has its credit to conduct international musical programs in Dubai, Doha, Qattar, Kuwait, Korea, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Singapore, UK, South Africa, etc. Considerable number of musical programs at domestic level were undertaken i.e., for airlines, medical colleges, multinational companies and government organizations which are illustrated as under:
