What do you think about AI generated art? Are computers taking over?

There's a protest going on against AI art over on artstation, so I feel like now is the time for me to make a statement on this issue!

I wholeheartedly support the ongoing protest against AI art. Why? Because my artwork is included in the datasets used to train these image generators without my consent. I get zero compensation for the use of my art, even though these image generators cost money to use, and are a commercial product.

Musicians are not being treated the same way. Stability has a music generator that only uses royalty free music in their dataset. Their words: “Because diffusion models are prone to memorization and overfitting, releasing a model trained on copyrighted data could potentially result in legal issues.” Why is the work of visual artists being treated differently?

Many have compared image generators to human artists seeking out inspiration. Those two are not the same. My art is literally being fed into these generators through the datasets, and spat back out of a program that has no inherent sense of what is respectful to artists. As long as my art is literally integrated into the system used to create the images, it is commercial use of my art without my consent.

Until there is an ethically sourced database that compensates artists for the use of their images, I am against AI art. I also think platforms should do everything they can to prevent scraping of their content for these databases.

Artists, speak out against this predatory practice! Our art should not be exploited without our consent, and we deserve to be compensated when our art is exploited for commercial use.

Suprise! Our totems can be seen in Wisla, Poland for entire summer. The art place is called Ogród Sztuki and it is owned by our good friend. The garden is full of sculptures and paintings. You are all invited :)

Mission accomplished! We've just returned from the LAS Festival where we had two of our art installations.
The first one is the one from last year, again our bird totems visited LAS. Led wooden structures once again decorated main social area.
The second one was the Flow Tent concert stage. For that one we decided to invite other artist because together with LAS we wanted to create real dragon ;) And it happened, our very talented friend LOOP reactivated brought to us an amazing dragon head! Mystic Arts Event Deko Team / MAEDT brought their crystals that you may know from our other productions and together we created loooong chinese dragon body. Big crew this time, judge the results by yourself :)
Big thanks to LAS Festival for inviting us and trusting us once again.

We are all shocked with agression happening now. But we are proud of Ukraine fighting so brave, we are proud of Polish people helping by the border without any complaints and of Polish government supporting, not turning back!

Times are different now. This is not 20th century, we have many people fighting for truth, and we have different possibilities. The information speeds fast, we are more organized. With all those companies supporting, hackers acting, people sending information. Yes, we can impact our reality.

And we believe bad villains lose at the end!

Drogie zwierzaczki,
ależ nam to wszystko się udało! Efekt był tylko zwieńczeniem, bo cała droga od początku była wspaniała, bo ze wspaniałymi ludźmi. Cały team spisał się bardzo dzielnie, pracowaliśmy bardzo dużo dni po to by pokazać Wam naszą scenę na Fest Festival '21
