80 anos desde a libertação de Auschwitz - um momento de luz no meio de uma escuridão inimaginável. Honramos a memória dos milhões que pereceram, celebramos a resiliência dos que sobreviveram e comprometemo-nos a garantir que tais atrocidades nunca mais se repitam ✡️🕯️

Ao acendermos uma vela em memória, reflectimos sobre a força do espírito humano, o poder da esperança e a importância de preservar a nossa história. Auschwitz é uma recordação gritante das profundezas da crueldade humana, mas também um testemunho da luta permanente pela liberdade e pela dignidade.

Ao aproximarmo-nos do 80º aniversário da libertação de Auschwitz, recordamos o sofrimento inimaginável suportado durante um dos capítulos mais negros da História.

No entanto, esta reflexão também nos obriga a olhar para o presente e a reconhecer a dor que muitos ainda enfrentam no nosso mundo actual.

As histórias de cativeiro, perda e resiliência ecoam dolorosamente na situação dos nossos reféns actualmente detidos em Gaza. O peso da incerteza, a separação dos entes queridos e o desejo de liberdade são experiências universais de angústia que transcendem o tempo.

Mantenhamo-nos unidos em solidariedade com aqueles que estão a sofrer hoje e reafirmemos o nosso compromisso com os valores da liberdade, da justiça e da dignidade humana. Amanhã, ao honrarmos a memória dos libertados de Auschwitz, levaremos adiante estas reflexões e lembraremos o poder da esperança e da resiliência.


As we approach the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, we are reminded of the unimaginable suffering endured during one of history’s darkest chapters. Yet, this reflection also compels us to look at the present and acknowledge the pain still faced by many in our world today.

The stories of captivity, loss, and resilience echo painfully in the situation of our hostages currently held in Gaza. The weight of uncertainty, the separation from loved ones, and the yearning for freedom are universal experiences of anguish that transcend time.

Let us stand united in solidarity with those who are suffering today and reaffirm our commitment to the values of freedom, justice, and human dignity. Tomorrow, as we honor the memory of those liberated from Auschwitz, we will carry these reflections forward and remember the power of hope and resilience.
