For awhile now, I've been meaning to try out restaurant Cantinho-do Aziz in a small street in Lisbon's Mouraria, a neighborhood shaped by generations of immigrants and cultures Mozambican, Portuguese and Goan, an unassuming restaurant away from the tourist places.

The Samosas with the house Peri Peri was a highlight. I had the beef and chicken, and if you know me if prawn curry is on the menu then I'm having it, and it did not let down, transported me back to shacks on the beaches of Goa.

☀️ Nicky's Kitchen is taking a Summer Break! ☀️

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported Nicky's Kitchen. It's time for a little summer break to rest, recharge, and spend some time with family.

I'll be back in August with more freshly cooked Indian and Pan-Asian favourites, and I can't wait to cook for you all again.

Pork Vindaloo – Dad's Way

This week's special is a dish that's very close to my heart.

My Pork Vindaloo – Dad's Way is an Anglo-Indian style pork vindaloo, made using my dad's much-loved recipe. Tender pork is slowly cooked in a rich, tangy, gently spiced sauce that's full of flavour. It's comforting, full of character, and made in loving memory of my dad, who taught me so much.

Served with South Indian lemon rice.

€10 per portion

O meu Caril de Porco Vindaloo – À Moda do Meu Pai é um Vindaloo de estilo anglo-indiano, preparado segundo a receita tão acarinhada do meu pai. Carne de porco tenra, cozinhada lentamente num molho rico, aromático, ligeiramente ácido e cheio de sabor. Um prato reconfortante, cheio de personalidade e preparado em memória do meu pai, que me ensinou tanto.

Acompanhado de arroz de limão do sul da Índia.

Saturday, Centro Nautico Trizio. Serta, Open water swimming competition, with delicious fried chocos, molelas, the gindungo chillies added a lovely heat to the sauce and batata frites. A lovely day at the river beach. My girl is not a water baby. She sits in the shade and watches over mummy 💕
