Wanna bet? - is a patented wine game in the format of a blind tasting with a game master (sommelier), chips, and bets. It allows participants to learn more about
wines, test their knowledge, reveal the talent of a taster, and compete with other participants for the title of beginner sommelier.

Terroir is a wine’s DNA: a unique set of qualities that makes each wine authentic.

Even though two wines can share the same name, they may taste different. For example, Cabernet Sauvignon produced in The Médoc in Bordeaux is more acidic than Cabernet produced in Oakville AVA in Napa Valley. That is because the Californian grape receives just a bit more sunlight and heat all year round.

Was rum the only thing that pirates drank? Absolutely not!

Not every type of alcohol could withstand long voyages without spoiling. Due to this, they preferred hard liquor that helped prevent against diseases. Of course, their first choice was rum, but apart from that, they also liked... Port Wine!

"Port" is for Portugal, not a seaport. Strong, sweet, and rich in flavour, this fortified wine was first produced in the 17th century in Portugal. High in alcohol content (16%-20%), it lasted long and was the officers' favourite.

Do you know how the wine tasting is going? There is a horizontal and a vertical one. The horizontal doesn’t end up in a horizontal posture but makes you try the same-year wines from different wineries. While at the vertical tasting, you drink wines from different years of the same grape. Deepen your knowledge reading the carousel!

In Madeira, there are 2 kinds of white wine made of Verdelho grape.

The main difference between them is that Madeira Verdelho is fortified. A fortified wine is the one with added distilled spirits which were incorporated during the fermentation. In other words, when the sugar is transitioning into alcohol, winemakers add some alcohol in the drink, so it has a more pronounced flavour and a higher alcohol degree.

𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞: English

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞: Group 6 -10 participants taste 5 wines blind and try to guess grape variety, region, year and alcohol degree following hints from the game master. Players place friendly, non-monetary bets with chips on their wine knowledge. The one with the most chip count – wins.

Do you want to drink wine and actually understand its notes, tannins, and aftertaste? We have just the thing for you, and it’s not a 3-year sommelier course but an entertaining 2-hour drinking game!

At a symbolic betting table (no money bets), you are helped by a game master to make educated guesses. By the end of the game, you know what colour, smell, and taste say about the wine. Wine drinking will feel and taste differently: not a shot in the dark but an informed and intellectual activity.
