On behalf of one of MDMC’s owners:
“Our friend Lee Deacon passed away earlier this year after a long fight with cancer. To remember him, and raise money for Sarcoma UK, a group of his friends and loved ones will be taking part in a walk around his home town of Bournemouth, stopping at places that were important to Lee at various stages of his life.

We’ll be walking all the way across Bournemouth visiting places like his school, the hospital he was born in, the AFC Bournemouth ground - home of his beloved Cherries - and ending in Mudeford, a place very special to Lee. All told, the route will be around 15 miles.

We’re doing this to remember Lee and to celebrate his life. We’ve also decided to raise as much as we can for Sarcoma UK, a charity doing vital work in curing this terrible disease, and supporting those who suffer from it.

Any help you can give would be much appreciated. And wish us well on our trek!” We will have a link in our bio, any donations would be greatly appreciated🙏🙏🙏

I chose to move to Portugal 20 years ago as a life choice. My only regret was that I left family and wonderful friends behind.

Despite the distance I have kept in touch with my old school mates and AFC Bournemouth buddies over the years at games. I love going back to support the Cherries when I can. I love the club and have done for many years and catching up with old mates, at the few games I do manage to get back for, is priceless. There are many of us dotted around the world, but we always try our best to meet up united by AFC Bournemouth.

One of the biggest fans was Lee Deacon aka “Les” and we heartbreakingly lost him to Sarcoma Cancer earlier this year. A number of friends have come together to try to raise some money for this rare cancer and I will join them on a special walk around Bournemouth visiting what used to be his favourite haunts including our old school, pubs and of course Dean Court.

We will be walking through Bournemouth, next Saturday, on the 12th October 2024 visiting designated points that were important to Les. The walk will be approximately 18/19 miles (30km) and we want to raise money along the way.

We hope to help raise awareness of this rare Cancer. If you can, lease support our Walk for Les.
