🇬🇧 Andreia and Diogo seem pretty comfortable don’t they? I bet they weren’t 😅
They were actually laying in a giant stone with their backs completely bent over it!
You see, portrait photography is a team job. Not everything has to do with technical knowledge. A lot of it has to do with who you have in front of your lenses and the connection you are able (or not) to build with them.
Fortunately Andreia and Diogo were pretty relaxed and easy going. They trusted us when we suggested this odd posture and the result was quite good (at least that’s how we see it 😅)
The dynamic between a photographer and the people in front of the lenses is pretty important. Without trust people don’t feel comfortable and if that happens pictures will all look forced and unnatural - the fact that Andreia and Diogo look comfortable even though they were in a pretty uncomfortable position (physically speaking) proves it: the situation itself felt safe enough for them to enjoy it.

Na realidade as costas deles estavam totalmente dobradas em cima de uma pedra gigante!
Sabes, fotografia de retrato é um esforço de equipa. Nem tudo tem a ver com a parte técnica. Muito deste trabalho tem a ver com as pessoas que temos em frente à nossa lente e a conexão que conseguimos (ou não) criar com elas.
Felizmente a Andreia e o Diogo são um casal bastante relaxado e confiaram em nós sempre que sugerimos algumas ideias meio malucas 😅
A dinâmica entre o fotógrafo e as pessoas em frente da câmara é muito importante. Sem confiança as pessoas não se sentem à vontade e isso fará com que todas as imagens pareçam forçadas e nada naturais - o facto da Andreia e do Diogo parecerem altamente confortáveis nesta imagem prova isso mesmo: apesar de fisicamente estarem desconfortáveis, sentiam-se seguros o suficiente para aproveitarem a situação em si. 🧡
