𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗺 𝗲́ 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰̧𝗮?

𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰̧𝗮 (Lisboa, 1993) é uma artista interdisciplinar a viver em Londres, trabalhando entre escultura, desenho, fotografia e vídeo. Licenciada em Artes Plásticas pela FBAUP e mestre em Fine Art pela Goldsmiths (2024), tem apresentado o seu trabalho em instituições como a Culturgest, ICA Londres, MIRROR Plymouth, ZDB, Pedro Cera, Francisco Fino e Casa de São Roque. Paralelamente, colabora no contexto musical em performances com Toda Matéria, cenografias com Maria Reis e videoclipes para vários artistas. Entre 2015 e 2016, fundou e dirigiu o espaço Vésta, no Porto.

[𝗘𝗡] 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰̧𝗮 (Lisbon, 1993) is an interdisciplinary artist living in London, working in sculpture, drawing, photography, and video. With a degree in Fine Arts from FBAUP and a master’s degree in Fine Art from Goldsmiths (2024), she has presented her work at institutions such as Culturgest, ICA London, MIRROR Plymouth, ZDB, Pedro Cera, Francisco Fino, and Casa de São Roque. At the same time, she collaborates in the musical context in performances with Toda Matéria, set designs with Maria Reis, and music videos for various artists. Between 2015 and 2016, she founded and directed the Vésta space in Porto.

𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗺 𝗲́ 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗮 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀?

𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗮 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 (1998) é uma autora multidisciplinar que centra o seu trabalho na sensorialidade da imagem em movimento, explorando o documental experimental. Formada pela ESMAD e mestre pela UCP, desenvolve projetos em realização, montagem e direção de fotografia, assinando filmes como “How to Be a Candid Woman” (2022), “Cura” (2023) e “Nunca estive tão perto” (2023), estreado na Competição Nacional do IndieLisboa 2024. Paralelamente, cria explorações sonoras e videoarte, coassina o projeto “fhosfhorus” e integra os coletivos ORCA e OBSOLETO. Atualmente, leciona cinema na Universidade da Beira Interior e prática audiovisual na Escola de Tecnologia e Gestão de Barcelos.

[𝗘𝗡] 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗮 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 (1998) is a multidisciplinary author who focuses her work on the sensoriality of the moving image, exploring experimental documentary filmmaking. A graduate of ESMAD and holder of a master’s degree from the UCP, she develops projects in filmmaking, editing, and cinematography, with films such as “How to Be a Candid Woman” (2022), “Cura” (2023) and “Nunca estive tão perto” (2023), which premiered in the Portuguese Competition at IndieLisboa 2024. At the same time, she creates sound explorations and video art, co-signs the project “fhosfhorus” and is a member of the ORCA and OBSOLETO collectives. She currently teaches cinema at the Universidade da Beira Interior and audiovisual practice at the Escola de Tecnologia e Gestão de Barcelos.

No sábado, 6 de dezembro, às 17h00, a Solar – Galeria de Arte Cinemática inaugura a exposição 𝙋𝙤́𝙨-𝙇𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙤́𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙨 𝙙𝙚 𝙑𝙚𝙧𝙖̃𝙤, resultante da 11.ª edição do Programa Laboratórios de Verão. O projeto surge da parceria com gnration (Braga) e CIAG – Centro Internacional das Artes José de Guimarães (Guimarães), com o objetivo de apoiar e promover a criação artística na região. A exposição reúne quatro projetos artísticos de 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗮, 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗮, 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝘇 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀 e 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼𝗻 que exploram perspetivas, sensorialidades e horizontes distintos, ainda que em diálogo entre si. Selecionadas através de uma 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭, as propostas foram desenvolvidas em residências artísticas e acompanhadas pela curadora 𝗝𝗼𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗣𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗮. O programa inaugural na Solar incluirá também uma 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 que irá expandir a experiência sensorial e física da obra de Mariana Sardon.

[𝗘𝗡] On Saturday, December 6th, at 5 p.m., Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery will inaugurate the exhibition 𝙋𝙤𝙨𝙩-𝙎𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙧 𝙇𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨, the culmination of the 11th Summer Laboratories Programme. This project is a partnership between gnration (Braga) and CIAJG – José de Guimarães International Arts Centre (Guimarães), aiming to support and promote artistic creation in the region. The exhibition features four artistic projects made by 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗮, 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗮, 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝘇 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀, and 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼𝗻. Selected through an open call, the proposals were developed during artistic residencies and mentored by curator 𝗝𝗼𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗣𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗮. The opening event at Solar will also include a 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 that will enhancing the sensory and physical experience of Mariana Sardon’s work.

De 6 de dezembro de 2025 a 31 de janeiro de 2026, a Solar – Galeria de Arte Cinemática apresenta 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙚 𝙤 𝙢𝙚𝙞𝙤-𝙙𝙞𝙖 𝙚 𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙧𝙚̂𝙨, de 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰̧𝗮, projeto desenvolvido no âmbito da sua 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲̂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶́𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗻𝗮 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿. Durante este período, a artista explorou a fotografia de grande formato e o horizonte enquanto motivo cinematográfico, trabalhando com adolescentes de Vila do Conde e arredores através de oficinas e exercícios multidisciplinares. O horizonte — entendido aqui como elemento de expectativa e entusiasmo — estruturou o processo de filmagem inicial em Vila do Conde. Posteriormente, Graça prosseguiu o projeto na praia de Carcavelos, onde registou três pares de jovens que responderam a cartazes afixados no espaço público.

Em exposição, serão apresentados os materiais captados, tanto em Carcavelos como em Vila do Conde, incluindo os materiais resultantes das oficinas realizadas na galeria.

[𝗘𝗡] From December 6th, 2025, to January 31st, 2026, Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery presents
𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙚 𝙤 𝙢𝙚𝙞𝙤-𝙙𝙞𝙖 𝙚 𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙧𝙚̂𝙨 (between noon and three o’clock) by 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰̧𝗮, a project developed as part of her 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿. During this period, the artist explored large-format photography and the horizon as a cinematic motif, working with teenagers from Vila do Conde and the surrounding area through workshops and multidisciplinary exercises. The horizon — understood here as an element of expectation and projection — structured the initial filming process in Vila do Conde. Graça then continued the project on Carcavelos beach, where she recorded three pairs of young people who responded to recruitment posters displayed in public spaces.

The exhibition will feature the pictures captured in Carcavelos and in Vila do Conde, but also the printed materials resulting from the workshops held at the gallery.

De 6 de dezembro de 2025 a 31 de janeiro de 2026, a Solar – Galeria de Arte Cinemática apresenta 𝙇𝙞𝙣𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙙𝙚 𝘽𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙖, a mais recente exposição de 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗮 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀. O projeto desenvolve uma análise crítica à monocultura agrícola, recorrendo a imagens fotográficas de caráter repetitivo e a referências a gestos industriais. A artista constrói assim uma paisagem que se move entre escalas microscópicas e cósmicas, questionando a artificialização da natureza, a esterilidade das sementes transgénicas e a transformação do ambiente através de processos produtivistas.

A programação inclui ainda uma 𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗰̧𝗮̃𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗶𝗸 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗮, que apresentará uma interpretação sonora ao vivo inspirada nas atmosferas e no universo visual da instalação de Dores. A performance terá lugar no dia 6 de dezembro, a partir das 17h00.

[𝗘𝗡] From December 6th, 2025, to January 31st, 2026, Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery presents 𝙇𝙞𝙣𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙙𝙚 𝘽𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙖 (Embroidery Lines), the latest exhibition by 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗮 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀. The project offers a critical analysis of agricultural monoculture, utilizing repetitive photographic imagery and references to industrial practices. Through her work, the artist constructs a landscape that oscillates between microscopic and cosmic scales, prompting reflection on the artificialization of nature, the sterility of genetically modified seeds, and the environmental transformations driven by productivist processes.

The program also features a 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗛𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗶𝗸 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗮, who will interpret the atmospheres and visual world of Dores’ installation through live sound. The performance is scheduled for December 6th, after 5 pm.

Este anúncio surge no âmbito da 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 para residências lançada em outubro de 2025, destinada a artistas emergentes residentes em Portugal que desenvolvem propostas nos domínios da imagem, do som, da interatividade ou em cruzamentos dessas áreas.

A residência será realizada brevemente (em datas a confirmar), com a 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗰̧𝗮̃𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮 para 𝗱𝗲𝘇𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗼 𝗱𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗮 𝗷𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗼 𝗱𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳. This announcement is part of the 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 launched in October 2025, which targets emerging artists in Portugal working in image, sound, interactivity, or at their intersections. The residency will be held soon (dates to be confirmed), with an exhibition planned for December 2026 to January 2027. Congratulations to Catarina Oliveira on this achievement, and we thank all artists who submitted proposals. We look forward to following the development of “A Mulher da Areia” and sharing its results with the community.

A banda da aldeia, Kunst en Vriendschap (Arte e Amizade), sopra de novo a “Fanfare in Es” de Jan Mul. Desde 1958 não tocam o ourro, mas é a miragem do prémio que os move: ensaiam como quem sonha vencer — mas acabam sempre em desavença.

[𝗘𝗡] The village band, Kunst en Vriendschap (Art and Friendship), once again blows Jan Mul’s Fanfare in Es. Since 1958 they haven’t touched gold, yet it is the mirage of the prize that drives them: they rehearse as if dreaming of victory — but always end in discord.

Até 𝟯 𝗱𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗼, a 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿 – 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗱𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮́𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮 mantém aberta a convocatória para a 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲̂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶́𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱. This opportunity is open to individual artists living in Portugal who explore the connections between image, sound, and space. The open call provides a space for creation, experimentation, and dialogue with the public, with the final project being presented publicly between December 2026 and January 2027.
