Family Event in Douro
Family gatherings are always special! But this one was even more special 😉 We really enjoyed curating Monteiro Family annual gathering in Douro. With a proper follow up, both the Portuguese and French sides of the family were able to enjoy a Visit, Tasting & Wine Lunch at Quinta da Pacheca.
The perfect way to wrap up the day in Douro was with a Boat Ride in Pinhão. Great moments!
Inspection Visit to Quinta da Aveleda
PT&E was invited to visit , where we had the chance to catch up with the comercial team, discuss upcoming projects, solidify our partnership and experience in first hand what we can offer to our clients.
Located only 30 minutes from Porto, Quinta da Aveleda is a beautiful property of 8 acres of garden. In the Quinta, we can curate a highly personalized programs, in a property that keeps the traits from almost 150 years.

PT&E was invited by Visit Porto and North of Portugal - Convention & Visitors Bureau, to explore the region of Arouca for 2 days, alongside other DMC colleagues.
It was an amazing opportunity, to get a presential know how of the area, experience in first hand what we offer to our clients and share important networking moments with our partners/ colleagues.

Nice event recap incoming:
It was truly wholesome to curate Espace Innovation annual meeting event, this last month of November in Porto and the North of Portugal.
Always with a theme for each day, that varied from the Portuguese Discoveries, to the Portuguese rural lifestyle and the Gala formal, the working group had a series of networking activities and presentations at the hotel during the day, while the non delegates made the most of the tours in Porto & Minho region, as well as, a traditional Pastel de Nata workshop.
On the afternoon, once the works were completed, some social programs come on the mix with everybody, alongside the respective thematic dinners.
After 3 days in Porto, there was also time for an extra agenda to spend the weekend in the Douro Region.
What an amazing group it was! Stay tuned for more news on this one 😉

Last month, we oversaw the organisation of a couple days activities for SRB Assekuranz Broker AG in Porto.
The program was focused on getting to know Porto, while at the same time, enjoying some of the best activities that the city has to offer, such as: Boat Ride in Rio Douro, Porto Bridge Climb & Visiting the Jardim de Serralves.
As for the meals they were also an important part of the program, having the group been into restaurants in the city centre of Porto but also in the best fish area in town, Matosinhos.

Corporate programs for all groups and sizes! We recently organized a company teambuilding during the afternoon for Continental AG in the city of Porto.
Taking advantage of the really good weather, the group had the opportunity to experience the Porto Bridge Climb activity, that takes place in the amazing Arrábida Bridge. Right on time to enjoy a beautiful sunset. It was the perfect appetizer for a paella dinner, later at Habitat Terra e Fogo in the wonderful Foz area.

Quinta do Soalheiro – Inspection Visit
We had the privilege to be invited by Soalheiro for a Site Inspection at their property!
It was very nice to get to know the Quinta´s infrastructures, get to know the staff and experience in firsthand the various activities the Quinta has to offer. We highlight the bread - making activity and of course the regional lunch with wine tasting. For us, it also worked out as a teambuilding experience, it was so fun! And at the end of the day, we really are happy people making people happy!
Throwback Thursday – S. João Event 2023:
In June, the Portuguese celebrate the “Santos Populares.” These events are marked by masses, processions, marches and lots of partying. On the night of June 23rd to the 24th, the São João party takes place in Porto.
Special lighting and decoration are installed in the alleys of the Historic Centre, with banners, basil pots and other symbols alluding to the date. It´s a special party where the city is completely full and lively.
However, there are some families and friends that prefer to celebrate São João in a more private environment. Project Travel & Events was in charge of organising, a private S João festivity that took place in the nothern city of Caminha at a family-owned country house. Of course, the traditional lighting and decoration, as well as, a delicious barbecue could not miss out!
WINE CIRCUIT - 6th/7th Day - Bairrada/ Porto
Final two days of our carefully designed wine circuit. And what a ride it has been so far, so let´s finish it off in style!
It´s time to leave the region of Dão and go towards the best sparkling wine region of Portugal: Bairrada.
Once we get in Bairrada, we go directly towards Luis Pato, the reference winery of the region for a Visit, Tasting & Lunch. Be aware, this is no ordinary wine lunch. It is a tradition in Bairrada to pair the sparking wines with “Leitão Assado” (Roasted Piglet), and here it will be no exception. Either in Luis Pato Winery private room or the Restaurant Mugasa (depending on the size of the group), you shall have an experience which will be fulfilling…and maybe who knows Mr. Luis Pato itself, joins in for a laugh and to tell some of his Wine experiences during lunch!
Afterwards, the group makes it´s return to the city of Porto. In the invicted city, the group heads to the city centre for a tasting at Portus Wines. At Portus, the owner Sérgio will make a complementary tasting to our Wine Circuit. Meaning that, the group will taste wines from the other Portuguese wine regions that they didn’t had the opportunity to taste, such as: Lisboa, Alentejo, Madeira & Açores wines.
The final group dinner is to be done at The Lodge Hotel, where the group checks in for the final night of the circuit. At one of the hotel wine – themed private dining rooms, the chef will serve a quality wine dinner that for sure will live up to the occasion. It´s the perfect way to end our Wine Circuit!
WINE CIRCUIT - 5th day - Dão
It´s the 5th day of circuit! And just like most of the other days, New day = New Region. Let´s head to probably to a region that will surprise you the most because it is indeed a well-hidden jam , the Dão!
And, there will be no better way to discover the wines of Dão than by visiting and getting to know Mr. Carlos Raposo. A true wine creator (with wine experiences from the 4 corners of the world), Carlos has worked very hard to make the best wines from his birth place region. The results are simply amazing! You are in for a treat, since after visiting Carlo´s winery, we will head to his family house for a pleasant lunch.
After lunch, the group heads straight to the Parador Casa da Insua for check-in. Let´s just say this is no regular hotel… we are talking about the only Parador in Portugal, a 18th century palace with its sophistication still intact and surrounded by magical gardens. It will be the perfect place to have a good rest and later, enjoy a exquisite Wine Dinner.

4th day – Wine Circuit - Douro Superior
On the 4th day, it’s time to dive deep into the Douro Region. Let´s kick start this by doing a cinematic train trip from Pinhão towards Poçinho, a village in the superior region of the Douro.
Once the group arrives in Poçinho, our driver shall take you into one of the most referencial Quinta´s of all Douro, the Quinta de Vale Meão. In this historical Quinta, an introduction to the Superior Douro Wines (most well known for it´s mature table wines) shall be done, alongside a visit to the Winery and the Jeep ride to discover this wonderful property (if the number of people allows).
After this experience, the appetite of the group will be more than satisfied with a typical regional lunch at Palato do Côa. In a complete immersive ambience, the group will be able to enjoy lunch with a view, plus, a visit with tasting to the winery, under authentic Quinta conditions. You will be in very good hands!
Later in the afternoon, the group check in at the Hotel Longroiva. As for dinner, it will be served in the nearby village of Mêda at Mr. Janeiro´s Wine Shop. It´s time to improvise during dinner time and to choose the wines at the moment of the meal, alongside the proposed dinner menu. A true tasting experience!

WINE CIRCUIT - 3rd day - The Douro Valley
A day spent in the Douro Valley. The perfect opportunity to live by the words of the Portuguese poet Miguel Torga, that described Douro as the: “The Sublime Douro… it is not a panorama that the eyes contemplate: it is an excess of nature… Terraces that are footsteps of titanic men climbing the slopes, volumes, colours and modulations that no sculptor, painter or musician can translate…. A virginal universe as if it had just been born, and already eternal because of the harmony, the serenity, the silence that not even the river dares to break…A geological poem”.
It is in this movie scenario that the group shall visit the Quinta de Santa Eufémia for a Douro Valley wine tasting, the reference wine region in Portugal. Afterwards a regional lunch will take place, so that the group can breathe in a proper “Quinta” experience.
Later on, an optional boat ride is part of the plan (if the good weather/ time of the year allows) and after resting a bit in the Hotel, a wine dinner at the highly ranked 1896 Restaurant by Pedro Lemos in Quinta do Bomfim, about 2 min walking distance from the Hotel, will be the perfect ending for the Douro Experience day.

WINE CIRCUIT - 2nd Day - Vinho Verde & Douro
It´s time to kick start the discovery of the Wine regions of our Wine Circuit!
We start by leaving Porto in the morning and make our way towards the first Wine region: Vinho Verde.
Our first stop is at Sem Igual winery. Sem Igual will give you the perfect introduction to the vinho verde, not only because Vinhos Verdes are already very different by themselves (fresh & slightly sparkling) but because João Camizão (wine expert & owner of Sem Igual) made the effort to explore this type of wine in a very bold way, resulting in very interesting Wines. João´s wife Leila, will make sure the Eno-touristic experience is on point.
Afterwards, we take 15 minutes towards our next stop: Casa de Vila Boa. This original 14th Century property is simply breathtaking. Afonso Lencastre, family representative of the Lencastre & wine expert will give you a tour of this very well preserved and traditional manor house, which include almost 30 acres of vineyards. The tour culminates with a Portuguese regional lunch & Wine tasting of the Casa de Vila Boa Wines.
With these experiences, we can tick the first Wine Region of Vinhos Verdes and at the same time, we are already halfway through to the next one: The Douro Valley. Once we arrive at Pinhão, the group checks – in at The Vintage House Hotel. Perfectly located with the river on sight, this classical and elegant hotel, will give you the true sensation of immersion on what is classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. At the Vintage House, the group later enjoys a carefully prepared dinner.

Project Travel & Events team will assist you in your arrival at the airport. A personalized transfer awaits, to take you comfortably to your Wine themed hotel - The Lodge Hotel.
Later, that day, the learning experience starts! A guided visit at WOW´s Wine Experience Museum will give you all the necessary insight and theory to the upcoming days.
Afterwards, the day ends just as it should: A visit & tasting of Port Wine, followed by a Wine Dinner at a Port Wine Cellar. Sounds good? Saúde!
