When Manny Pacquiao was just a boy, his father Rosalio scaled 70 trees a day collecting coconuts to sell and make money to support his family. But often it wasn't enough. Manny and his siblings would go days without food, and even a simple bowl of rice was out of reach.

Once, when his younger brother Bobby was being teased for being "poorer than dirt" Pacquiao stepped in and floored the boy with a single punch.

Manny had to find some form of success and stowed away on a boat headed to Manila. He wanted to lessen the burden on his mother, who was juggling five other children.

He is now the Senator of the Philippines, the only ever 8 weight world champion and worth over $220 million. He has given over $200 million to charitable organisations.

What a man!
