Self -proclaimed percussion obsessive, South-London-raised, British-Ghanaian Producer and DJ, Hagan has long been recognized in the underground electronic scene as one of the most exciting fusionists. Raised on an early education of Ghanaian music with the sounds of Ebo Taylor, Gyedu Ambolley, Pat Thomas and Kojo Antwi filling his home, he gravitated towards percussion; playing the Drums, Congas, and Djembes at church for some time. Renowned for his beginnings in UK Funky,over the last years, Hagan has truly honed his craft. Exploring the intersection of UK club music and African percussive heritage, Hagan boldly blends elements of Afro-House, Highlife, Hiplife, Afrobeat, UK Funky, Jazz, UK Garage, Funk Carioca, Gqom and more with UK club sounds.
Hagan’s latest project ‘Good Food’, released on Soulection, saw him delve deeper into the theme of collaboration and fusing live instrumentation with electronic sounds. Past releases have seen his music feature on Benji B’s One Level, Jamz Supernova’s Future Bounce, Push and Run, Gobstopper and more. Turning out one of the best Soulection Radio episodes in 2023, Hagan has shown his versatility producing mixes for the likes of Mixmag, DJ Mag, and Crack to name a few. He’s also gained
support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, NTS, Rinse FM, Resident Advisor, Notion, Bandcamp, and more.
Hagan’s sound is undoubtedly becoming an instant crowd mover, with his percussive backbone and his detailed attention to sound selection leading the way for the dance floor.
