My Story
I moved to Malmö, Sweden in September 2017 to be with my amazing partner and our soon to be born son. Once arriving in Malmö I decided that this was the perfect opportunity to follow a long held dream and pursue a career within the culinary world. One major problem though… although I was a keen home cook, I had zero experience and this would be a major obstacle to overcome and I am no spring chicken
This is where I met the wonderful Kimberley Wiltshire of Monkey Fist (best tacos in Malmo btw) who has become a mentor and a dear friend. We hit it off from our first sit down and shared a very similar back story having worked in different industries and wanting to make the change to something that we had a passion for and at a very similar time in our lives.
She not only took me on to work along side her, she taught me along the way and gave me the opportunity, support and full autonomy to run a popup restaurant on a Saturday… a dream come true!
This has fuelled the fire in me even more and and as a result I bring you Jerk’d, a little taste of Jamaica and the food of my childhood that my amazing mother would put on our table.
