The last time I was in Melaka must have been like 15 years ago in a church camp..

My memories of the place is hazy.. that plus the fact that in a church camp, most of the activities are within the hotel meant that I've not seen much of Melaka.

This recent cycling trip to Melaka is memorable on many counts, the most precious of which was the company.

This same bunch of people who first met each other back in April 2023 when they signed up to cycle in Taiwan with me remains close to this day.

I had a lot of fun observing the relationships and camaraderie that's developed over the 4 months since.

This trip, to be in their midst enjoying their banters, watching how seamlessly they come together to turn the trip into a success, observing how they stand in the gap for each other, has been both interesting from a social psychology experiment standpoint, but also heartwarming to see what appears to be the beginning of a long friendship.

This group, named the 台哥台妹（TGTM) group, is the perfect group to validate the outcomes of Asch's conformity experiment, as well as that of the halo effect, both of which are excellent principles we may use to build a responsible cycling community
