Photo session with a former student who was a member of the school choir that I was helping to run. She still looks the same after all these years, especially for one who have just slogged for her PhD. I don't usually welfie or have pictures taken with my photography subjects, but she since insisted....

Although, we did obtain permission to photograph inside the library, we would have been chased out of the premise if I were to use a studio flash instead of the Zhiyun Molus x100 LED light 🤣.

A little tip on using the right tools for the job :)

2 lights for today's concert production. Hard lighting is better than no lighting. Slowly leaning towards using continuous lights like the Forza 300 for not just videography, but photography.

November Rain.

Was trying out the X1D mirrorless medium format camera and I'm impressed by how usable the images are at high ISO. This was shot at ISO1600 and I hardly need any noise reduction to clean up the image. All I need to do now is get it printed, big :)

One of my first overseas assignments, and this was photographed 10 years ago in Schiedam, Netherlands.

The biggest challenge was setting up the tripod at the ideal spot inside this century-old church, while trying not to break or scratch anything of historical value.

Every time I look at this image, I feel Time standing still in this quiet moment during Communion.

Thankfully the EU law that prohibits photos of famous European landmarks isn't happening. Would have had lots of implications for our couples that are heading to Europe for their photoshoots in the coming month. Phew! :)

New rules could have seen holidaymakers fall foul of copyright law for sharing photos of famous landmarks on Facebook

Trying out the Samsung NX1 camera that reviewers have been raving about. I'm very pleased with how neutral-looking the images are straight off the camera, and there is so much headroom for post-production. Looks like mirrorless DSLR could be the future :)
