| Social media is such a powerful tool. If you are doing business, I’m sure you’ll concur that it is such an amazing tool to draw crowd and engage your audience just through the virtual world.

At Vynella too, we strongly believe in Social Media Marketing and it is through this channel that we’ve grown from 11 follower audience to now a strong organic following count of 11,000. Alhamdulilah.

Nevertheless, Social Media can kill businesses too. It is indeed sad that we also live in a world where people want to remain anonymous, hide behind virtual walls and post unkind things or share fake news about people and businesses; bringing down their reputation to the drain without checking its authenticity.

I would love to say, Be Kind, God is watching you; but hey that sound like a threat. Perhapsjust know that nothing is ever private once its online no matter how private your profile is. | The new normal; not only for you but the entire freaking wedding industry. Very few people know what to do; those that were in business many years ago with SARS are also figuring it out. There’s no manual for “how to be a wedding vendor during a pandemic” so just as this is new for all the couples facing this, it’s new for us vendors too.
•
We know many of you are faced with difficult decisions impacting your wedding with the spread of COVID-19 globally. However, a little grace goes a long way during times like this. We’re all freaking out right now, we’re all nervous and we’re all trying our very best to save our businesses (& your weddings) but this is not a time to put vendors on blast because you disagree with their decision or because you weren’t happy with other accommodation methods offered to you.
•
Nope, I’m not getting into the drama of it all – there’s enough wedding industry drama before the Coronavirus decided to crash the weddings but let me say this: Nobody is happy with what’s going on right now and we’re all doing our best.
•
Flexibility is needed from both sides and if we all communicate professionally and with empathy and understanding, we can find solutions. The minute conversations turn to blaming and shaming and public call-outs, nothing productive will ever come out of it.
•
Thank you to all who stood by us through this tough times. No matter what our circumstances are, our couples are always at the heart of everything we do. Alhamdulilah, Business is picking up again though the virus is here to stay but the only thing that should be spread right now is kindness and grace.

I am amazed at the resilience of our couples fighting to have a union despite this tough period & families adapting to new norms during celebrations; made possible with the assistance of vendors navigating through the constant changes in regulations, ensuring the best for their affected couples eventhough times are equally tough for all of us.

The fight is not over, but I think we are all ready. Let’s continue to be grateful for what we have & be kind to others. Whatever the problem, there would always be a solution - if we all stand together. Remember everyone has their own struggles but indeed, We are Stronger Together.

| Do I sound like Im doing some electorial campaigning? Haha. Neh. With the GE done and dusted, I’m hoping for the Ministry to ease up with some measures pertaining specifically to wedding gatherings.

Its been 24 days to be exact after Phase 2 & I’m hoping this to come in pretty soon as we are approaching the end of a 2 block of 14 days Incubation period.
•
I know alot of us have been left disappointed as GE took the frontline of our news in the few weeks. So with that being said and done, guys, what’s next? Alright alright, to be realistic, Im hoping for at least an ease up of up to 50pax. How about you? What are you hoping for right now?

| This was the last setup we did before the sudden long haul we were forced to take. Surprised it didnt even make it on our feed. Looking back, it must have been crazy weekend, possibly unimaginable at that point of time that our weekends could be made of coffee & netflix.

Though we pray daily for things to be better, a 1000 pax guests joining a marital celebration at a common void deck space could possibly be history. Yes, we hope not. But let’s plan ahead.
•
We’ve thought long and hard about this. To our clients who have engaged our full services for 2020, we’ve got your back. We would be allowing you to do a downsize of half the number of pax you have engaged us for. Meaning, if you took a 1000pax package, you could downsize it to 500pax & if you took a 500pax package you could downsize it to 250pax. But if you choose to postpone it to 2021 altogether, sticking to your original package, we’ll give u a cash rebate of up to $500.
•

These past few weeks, I have been receiving many DMs, emails and WhatsApp messages from many clients; new and existing ones asking me this question. Many fearing what the future of weddings would look like.

Honestly if you ask me, it’s easy to make guesses and predictions but ultimately, there so determining factors before we go towards the “new normal” majlis once again.
•
Nonetheless, as we move on with our lives post-CB, planning has got to resume to. We all know of the notion; if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. So don’t. Be it the decision to go small, postpone to the following year, start planning.
•
On a happier note, totally grateful that the Circuit Breaker had allowed me time to finally complete my Wedding Planner & Events Coordination certification! | Phase 1 Weddings (June 2020); So you may or may not have heard but here’s a summary. ⠀
•⠀
1. Solemnisation from 2-12 June to be done virtually (with marriage cert sent via courier) or in-person at ROMM only.⠀
2. Solemnisation from 13-30 June to be done in the 12 allocated mosques.⠀
3. Solemnisation cannot take place in private or public housing. ⠀
4. Venue and time would be decided by ROM/ ROMM. ⠀
5. Each solemnisation slot should take between 20 minutes at most.⠀
6. No live sessions allowed in the mosque during solemnisation.⠀
7. A maximum of 10 pax (not including Kadi) is allowed to be present.⠀
8. This includes the bride, groom, wali and two male witnesses who may not be family members, leaving slots for five pax to be only immediate family members of the couple. ⠀
9. Akad Nikah will be done with minimal contact & everyone present, including bride and groom to put on face mask. ⠀
10. No reception allowed after the solemnisation ceremony.⠀
•⠀
Since most decoration, photography & bridal companies do not fall within Phase 1 businesses permitted to operate, I would believe solemnisations happening during this period should then be an epitome of the simplest of all celebrations. ⠀

YES, we will be back in Business come 2nd June 2020; offering only minimal services for Phase 1 (2 June-July 2020) such as mini dias and small pax catering in line with the 10pax Solemnisation restrictions. ⠀

Indeed the situation of Covid-19 is an unprecendented event & it had affected the industry tremendously. What’s going to happen for Phase 2 and beyond is still uncertain & as we wait for further updates from the Ministry, we hope you’ll continue to remain positive and hold on tight to the plans you’ve made for your wedding celebrations. ⠀

We will still continue to take virtual appointments for 2021 clients via Zoom. So we do hope to see new faces of hopeful couples waiting to be hitched too! ⠀
