Savvy customers are wary of green washing and empty promises about brands’ sustainability policies: they want the real deal. Since the pandemic, 85% travellers were more concerned than ever before about sustainability. 87% believed that sustainable values had a significant impact on a brand’s image.
L’OCCITANE Group’s Aline Valantin assesses the company’s recent sustainability activities and underlines its mission to become a driver of positive change in travel retail.
Despite the restrictions, China’s economy still maintained resilience with local consumers flocking to Hainan for duty-free products.Between 2020 and 2021, Hainan alone experienced an 83% increase in sales of duty-free goods.

Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail has partnered with Lotte Duty Free to launch a travel retail-exclusive pop-up at Singapore Changi Airport. The circular pop-up was designed to be a destination for the Martell and Royal Salute 21’s Singapore edition, which are available exclusively in Singapore airport. It is located in the Terminal 3 Departure Hall and will run for a limited period.

The Macallan Concept No.3 is the result of the brand’s remarkable collaboration with renowned American graphic designer David Carson. The single malt Scotch whisky was initially launched at The Macallan boutiques in selected airports and in Hainan offshore duty-free locations last July, before rolling out to the rest of Asia Pacific travel retail in August 2021.
