Just recently I attended a farewell dinner for a colleague of mine and the food of choice was Indian food. This got me thinking of Indian-themed ideas for future dinner parties. So I did a little research and decided to share my findings with you. โโโโโโโโ

Elements of an Indian tablecapeโโโโโโโโ
1. Bright, rich colours are a must-have, usually jewel tones such as reds, oranges, pinks, and gold. โโโโโโโโ
2. Mix and match patterns of fabrics and dinnerware ( please don't go overboard there is actually an art to mixing patterns)โโโโโโโโ
3. Gold elements such as gold cutlery, gold-rimmed glassware, and plates. Fine silver is also a beautiful option โโโโโโโโ
4. Vibrant florals for centerpieces. Marigolds are commonly used as they represent happiness and celebration in Indian culture.โโโโโโโโ

Christmas Tablescapes
๐ต It's the most wonderful time of the year ๐ต and I'm definitely starting to feel the Christmas spirit. I mean Santa hasn't stopped by my house in decades but I still love Christmas with childlike excitement. So in the spirit of the "happiest season of all", it's time to switch up the decor at home and create a Christmas tablescape.
The foundation of a Christmas tablescape is no different from any other tablescape, what in fact makes it magical are the accents. These can include Christmas napkins, styled garland, fancy cutlery, or twinkle lights. So here are a few tips for your Christmas Tablescape.
1. Decide on a theme for your Christmas tablescape and ensure that this theme is cohesive with your home decor. You can choose to stick to traditional colours but there are soooooo many other themes you can try. Go for it!
2. Pick your linens - tablecloth, runner, napkins. My suggestion here would be one Christmas-themed linen, not all matching linens or a myriad of patterns. Oh and don't forget your napkin rings.
3. Create your centerpiece. It's Christmas so you have permission to overdo it here ( but with a little class). Start with a styled garland and add your table accents such as tabletop Christmas trees, candles, candlesticks, and twinkle lights.
4. Choose your dinnerware and glassware. If you have the fancy stuff, that's on display in the credenza ( do have a credenza?), now is a good time as any other to bring them out. Be fancy!
5. And last but not least don't forget special elements and personalization. These are the little touches that make your guests feel special. So go ahead and add menu cards, tokens, or place cards to complete the look.
