❂ Too Human

➳ In the world with huge technological changes and growing influence of Artificial Intelligence music may become less “human”.

➳ I believe that making music is about emotions, openness, real creativity and inner energy speaking to the world through you.

➳ It’s great that we can use technologies to express ourselves. But you are the creator, and technologies are just your instruments.

➳ I tried to create this mix with very human, free, improvised, almost jazzy approach. So one can recognise modern variations of Armstrong and Fitzgerald motives in the mix.

➳ Thus you can taste crazy mixture of different styles, cultures, tempos and moods. There is no straight “logic” or algorithm.

➳ AI will hardly do the same … unless one day they invent Artificial Emotional Intelligence…

➳ In the meantime, Electronica is still our “modern jazz”.

OK Selekta feat Shuma – “I (aya) care” EP - OUT NOW on all music platforms!

Yes, today I’m releasing my first music album!

“I (aya) care” EP is a result of a nice collaboration of the Ukrainian producer Oleksandr Kopyl aka OK Selekta (it’s me😉) and Belarusian folktronica singer Maryna Rusia Šukiurava

The idea of the EP is to combine some motifs from ancient Ayahuasca songs with modern soft electronic sounds. To make it organic, tender, and groovy, danceable at the same time.

So please discover the vibe of organic downtempo in 4 original tracks and 4 remixes, made by the talented Ukrainian producers.

We release this EP in the dramatic time of the unfair and mad russian invasion in Ukraine. And we want this release to have a special social mission. I plan to use all earned money from this EP to take some of the Ukrainian warriors to visit natural psychological rehabilitation sessions. Thus, they will be able to find some natural cure, to come back to normal life and to overcome post-traumatic stress disorder. Our artists want this EP to become real music that heals.

Mixed story #7 “Morning after a Ceremony” , Turu Anasi touch.

This song is a story of new day, new life, rebirth and positive energy that one can feel in the morning after a Medicine ceremony. Some samples (like fireplace sounds) were recorded live during real ceremony where OK Selekta and Maryna Rusia Šukiurava founded idea to create this special EP.

This light and inspiring track started to shine even brighter after Turu Anasi touch. Being well known master of organic groves and multicultural vibes Turu Anasi suggested his own vision of the song.

Mixed story #6 “Jo Kibuwa Ija” , Eternal Moment touch.

An ancient Shipibo song with lost lyrics , only the sounds remain. Beautiful vocal by Maryna Rusia Šukiurava make this song real meditation.

We couldn’t ever imagine that this song can be produced more magical and mystic than we did 😊 But Eternal Moment surprised us fully! We hope you will feel the same.

Today - story #2 “Jo Kibuwa Ija”

Chill and meditative track with which we ask the spirits of nature relief from sorrows and griefs of life. Unfortunately, nowadays nobody knows the real meaning of the lyrics from this ancient Shipibo song, only the sounds remain. Probably the last person who did know the meaning of the words was Maestra Olivia, who was tragically murdered several years ago in Peru. We reached out the Shipibo shamans, they shared this story and blessed our intention to create a modern version of Jo Kibuwa Ija song.

Beautiful vocal by Maryna Rusia Šukiurava Shuma will lead you through this story.

In few days you can also enjoy the magic interpretation of this track in remix by Eternal Moment.

My new track is an edit of an a ca****la Ayawaska song - “La Luna”.

The original icaros is sung by Metsa Nihue - a medicine man, who is focused on using the universal languages of singing and music to help people discover the native South American healing and spiritual practice.

Lyrics of La Luna song were written by Rosa Giove, a Peruvian naturopathic doctor of Japanese descent who studied dieting plant medicines in the Amazon. During her isolation time in the jungle, she had the sense that these lyrics were being whispered to her by the spirits of nature.

I was impressed by the beauty and power of the song and created my own musical interpretation of it.

As Metsa described “La Luna offers solace for the sorrow and grief that comes from a life of deep living”.

Story behind the track.

I was inspired by a real field recording of the chants of an Amazonian tribe from Brazil. You can hear those chants in the track.

This is not an ordinary song - it is a ritual of initiation of a young boy into a warrior. It is a ritual transition from a child to a man-warrior. And this tribe is unusual also.

This Kayapo tribe is a symbol of courage and struggle. They still have not been conquered; the Brazilian government was even forced to include their special rights in the Constitution.

And today, Ukrainians are a symbol of courage and struggle for the whole world!

I was impressed by this chant and therefore produced this track with the idea that it is a “shield-song” for our young defenders.

Sample - "Kayapo Chants", a group of female Kayapó native brazilian indians finishing the ritual of the warrior, in "Las Casas" tribe, in the Brazilian Amazon.
