Our Story
“ You can be the best band in the world,
but no one will know it unless you get out of the garage.”
Our Garage is going to change all that.
Our Garage is an environment of creation and exploration.
Located within the Shoppes at Riverside in Aberdeen,
The Garage: Music and Arts Center is dedicated to providing the community and our youth with music workshops, arts workshops, rehearsal spaces, and a performance venue. We also offer musicians' supplies for sale, such as guitar strings, drum sticks, cork grease and valve oil.
Currently, our community is lacking in music opportunities, and we are working to close that gap. We host a variety of Youth and Community programs. Youth Orchestra Unbound, Homeschool Orchestra, The Bridge Music Project, Kindermusik with Aries Light & Poco Voce Children’s Choir are our current Youth programs available at The Garage: Music and Arts Center. We also host all ages Open Mic & Jam Sessions every Thursday of the month at 6 pm.
The idea is to bring the community together and provide a safe and comfortable setting for creative minds of all kinds and ages to collaborate while providing our community with workshops and getting instruments into the hands of people who might not otherwise have the opportunity.
We have two private practice rooms that are available for rent at $3 for 30 mins that are free for any student to use. We also have over 75 community use instruments and an open jam space free to use while there are no classes or programs running.
The 98520 Music & Arts District Initiative was founded in 2017 in Grays Harbor County, working to improve the quality of life for all of its citizens and boost tourism in our community. In 2017 we also founded the 98520 & 98550 Annual Music Festival,
running from October 1st through October 31st, working with multiple businesses and artists from our communities to provide movies and documentaries about Music, showings at local Art Galleries, Music displays at our libraries and 31 music related events in 31 days.
