They are in the town of Abingdon. 2 boys (grey and a mackerel tabby) 2 girls (a mackerel tabby and the black one) 10 weeks old. Any help to boost their post would be so appreciated!! Hey Alley Cats!

We are selling this double decker cage. Only used twice for kittens. It’s great for pet rats and I’ve known people to use it for Guinea pigs too. 200. It’s sturdy and pretty heavy but we can take it apart to haul and it’s easy to put together.

Hello Alley Cats!

We have been doing a lot of thinking on how to make this post, how to word it, how to put it out there.

So I think it may be best to just say it.

We’re going to have to step away and regroup.

As some of you know, we’ve had a pretty intense year regarding our personal lives. From nearly losing a parent the month we opened to recently losing a niece from which our hearts will never heal and everything imaginable in between. It’s taken so much of our focus away from Alley Cat and we’ve run out of resources to continue to fund our vision.

We’re sad and exhausted but we know the best thing for everyone currently involved is to know when enough is enough and that we are no longer able to give it our all.

With that being said, we plan to keep the page running to help share information, connect community resources and post kitties that need homes when we can. We’re thankful for the community we’ve built and the connections we’ve made. It’s been amazing. And we appreciate each and every one of you!

I’m planning to hold a few adoption events upcoming as our wonderful kitties deserve their furever homes. I’ll also be posting some items for sale as well.

Thank you for your support of our vision and your continued love and support of us. It’s been really hard to watch my dream kind of whither away right before my eyes and be too engulfed in grief and stress to really be able to do anything else about it. I’m not a quitter by any means, but I know it wouldn’t be fair to the people who have believed in us or the kitties in our care if I insist that I go down with this ship instead of admitting that we are sinking.

Hey Alley Cats!

We recently had another member of our community reach out!
Just as we have to watch our fur babies cross the rainbow bridge, sometimes it’s the opposite and our pets have to grieve our loss.

That’s the case for these two handsome fellows.

Hairy is a grey 12 yr old neutered male with a very laidback personality.
Sq**rt is a 3 year old tabby on white neutered male.

Let’s help them find their furever home ❤️

Hey Alley Cats!
Someone reached out to us in an attempt to rehome these cuties. We are at cat-pacity and are unable to take them but that doesn’t mean we can’t help them find their fur-ever home! They are siblings but do not have to go together. The Siamese is a male and the grey tabby is a female. They are currently unaltered but their current fosters are willing to help with vet fees. We’re going to work on helping get them in and speutered in the meantime but wanted to make a post to see if we can get them placed ASAP.

They are good with other cats and so far good with dogs.

When I was about 12 years old, we had a tuxedo cat named Jo-Jo.

My little sister was about 4 years old at the time and we were playing in the front yard.

Something down our street caught my eye as it was getting closer quickly and when it came into focus I realized it was a really big German shepherd. As I was processing what was happening I realized the dog was headed straight for my sister. Before I even had a chance to lift a finger, Jo-Jo came running, full sprint, right at the dog. He never once hesitated and jumped right onto the dog’s face about 10-15 feet from where my sister was playing. I’m pretty sure he rode that dog all the way back to its house. I took my sister inside and made sure she was okay and then told my parents we needed to go get him because he may be hurt.

As we were planning our search party he came trotting back up our street without a scratch on him!

And that’s the story of the most heroic cat I’ve ever known.

My friend Nikki is one of the beautiful humans behind Alley Cat Cafe. My friend Nikki shared the following after one of her Facebook reels blew up with views and comments about her personal appearance:

I have a condition known as idiopathic hirsutism. It was once believed I had PCOS but I’ve yet to get a consistent diagnosis regarding that condition. Last year I decided to stop shaving to give myself a platform to educate the public regarding my condition and because I wanted to see what it would be like to embrace myself. If you have questions feel free to send a message through the ACC page and I will be happy to answer. Please bear with me as we are receiving a large volume of messages. Because they are primarily personal attacks/bullying, it’s taking me a lot of time to sift through it all. Inappropriate and unkind comments about my facial hair will be removed for the comfort of my current supporters as my beard isn’t my personality and I don’t want to talk about it 24/7. Repeating myself gets a little exhausting.

My friend Nikki is brave. My friend Nikki is amazing. My friend Nikki cares about animal welfare in our community. I absolutely do not understand why people are getting so excited about some facial hair. I wish they had the same energy and enthusiasm for cats. I mean...CAN'T WE JUST FOCUS ON HELPING CATS?! Would absolutely love if you friends would give their page a follow and show some of those RUKM good vibes.

Hey Alley Cats ❤️

I just wanted to take a second to reach out to all of you in case you’ve noticed a bit of a situation brewing on our page.

I did not know that there was a wrong side of Facebook but somehow one of our reels ended up there and it’s flooding our page with a LOOOOT of people who are really, really upset about the way that I look.

For those who have defended me, thank you. ❤️ I love you all so much and I am so thankful for you! But please be mindful of your own mental health. Do not waste your spoons on arguing with these people and make sure you put yourself first. ❤️

For those of you who are worried about me, I’m okay, I promise. ❤️ When I learned to love myself and decided that I wanted to stop catering to societal expectations of how I should look I knew I had to put on a pretty thick helmet. I also have an AMAZING support system!

I am continuing to monitor the comments the best I can. The viol3nt and s3xual h@rassm3nt comments have been removed and those commenters have been blocked/banned from the page. As for the rest, I am limiting the amount of comments that I read the best I can, and I’m encouraging the people who care about me to do the same because I know this is hard for anyone who knows and appreciates me. I promise I’m okay. ❤️

I’ve decided that this whole-ass lemon tree is gonna benefit us in someway, shape or ‘nother. I got super comfortable in our little bubble I’ve created over here with you guys and I had no idea that a reel of me and Frankie could literally rage-bait a mass of angry individuals to the tune of 780,000 plays, 500 shares and over 1,100 comments but here we are! 😸 So I am going to find a way to make what is best of it as I’ve watched our engagement and our GOOD FOLLOWERS grow! I’ve met som e new, and super sweet people since this happened and I am confident enough in myself to know that these hateful comments don’t say anything about me but everything about the people who are leaving them.

We have Alfie at home with us because he has no control when it comes to free feeding and it’s starting to show in his weight. 😬
He stays in our room while we’re sleeping and the last time I slept I had a dream that I was trying to wrangle him to safety IN THE MIDDLE OF AN ACTIVE TORNADO while he was absolutely spazzing out. When I woke up I found scratches all over my stomach which is exactly where he was scratching me in my dream. We are pretty sure something went down while we were sleeping that somehow translated into my crazy dream. 😂😂😂

Do you have a safety plan in place for natural disasters or emergencies? Because wrangling a cat while inside of a building that’s floating around like the house in the tornado in Wizard of Oz was NOT fun! My cortisol levels are high just from dreaming about it!
