[USA_El Paso] “Jesus came to the hearts of the citizens of El Paso” (PART 3)
El Paso Gracias Christmas Cantata!
Before the performance that evening, a procession of thousands of spectators continued to the concert hall. Hundreds of cars lined up to enter the concert hall, and the surrounding traffic was stuck by the huge numbers of people coming to attend the Cantata. Although the El Paso County Grand Theater is a very large venue with over 4,000 seats, so many people came and about 2,000 citizens had to go home under the surveillance of the police. The audience who entered the venue fully appreciated the performance of the Gracias Choir.
On this day's Christmas Cantata, Acts 1 to 3 all received good responses, but the message of Pastor Ock Soo Park received the most response. Pastor Ock Soo Park told the story of Sister Choi Soo-hyun, who got better from myelitis, and later, with the words of Romans 3:23 and 24, 'If the heart of Jesus flows into our hearts and becomes one, then Jesus will work for us, and our sins will no longer exist. It's not a problem,' he said.

The music and the children were beautiful, but what I am most grateful for is that they let us know that Christ exists through this performance. I thought this was the true meaning of Christmas. “The performance was really great. I wanted to stand up and sing along. Jesus washed away our sins. Pastor's message was also really good. All you need is faith and you must believe in Jesus only. Jesus is the healer. He is a real doctor and he has the power to make decisions. It is so amazing to think that people who never knew Jesus will come to know the Word of God and Jesus by experiencing this cantata.” (Andy)

Gracias Choir's Mission


First: To operate as a professional classical choir and orchestra.
Second: Hold regular concerts in order to foster the emotions of the youth, and to hold benefit concerts for the disadvantaged in society.
Third: Train musicians equipped with both ability and knowledge by running educational and other diverse programs.
