We are BACK at Common Roots for a GAY Holiday Pop-Up on Saturday, December 13th from 12PM - 4PM! 🌈

This market will feature 30 q***r, gender expansive, and allies from across the 518 all to support our beneficiary - Albany Rock Project! 🫂

Albany Rock Project was inspired by Bree’s work as a social-emotional educator and was founded as a community initiative that brought an artsy, sustainable outdoor activity to Black and Brown neighborhoods during the onslaught of COVID-19 in 2020. Bree believes that the project will not only, support physical activity, visual arts education, and mindfulness among Albany’s youth, but will also help to expand advertising and exposure for small local businesses, tourist attractions, and hidden gems throughout the city.

BOO! 👻 We are SO excited to announce the first ever A Big Gay Spooky Market! 🎃 🧙‍♀️ This market is a carefully curated for the spookiest and gayest vendors around. We are capturing the feeling of being deeply rooted in nostalgia within 80’s to 90’s horror - q***r in its campiest but still haunting essence.

This market will feature 25 themed vendors to alchemists that capture the essence of our theme! This is an INDOOR and OUTDOOR market which will have a mask-only hour and free masks available for all attendees. We will have vendors highly encouraged to come in costume and have buckets of candy at their booths for trick or treaters.

This market has a 35 vendor cap with a sliding scale vendor fee of $35 - $95. A kind reminder that we do NOT accept AI artists - all of our vendors are handmade or hand curated which won't be changing ever!

This market features 30 vendors and participatory LIVE community quilt making provided by our beneficiary, Project Linus 🧶 This is an INDOOR market which will have a mask-only hour and free KN-95 masks available for all attendees.

HIIIII COMMUNITY! 👋 Wow. THIS SUNDAY, October 19th from 10AM - 4PM at Washington Park Lake House in Albany is A BIG GAY MARKET! 🌈

We created the official A Big Gay Market Guide to help navigate all that we have to offer this market! This guide includes tips on parking, best ways to get to the market, our full schedule, our most up to date map, and MORE! 🎉

Some important highlights:
💜 You CANNOT park your car inside Washington Park (aka Washington Park Rd) because our event coincides with the Annual Breast Cancer Walk. But, there are MANY other ways to get to the event.
🧡 Our KN95 Mask Mandated Hour is 10AM - 11AM. This is mandated INSIDE and OUTSIDE. We have free KN95 masks available at the Information Booth.
🩵 We have a sensory-friendly tent for those who need a space to relax that isn’t as loud or crowded sponsored by Sanctuary! This is booth 14.
💜 Please note the map has changed a little bit since our first announcement! This was out of our control but please familiarize yourself with it!
🧡 We have a BIKE VALET! This is a new addition. If you come via bike, you can leave your bike with the valet located next to Booth 39.

Finally, please remember that our four larger markets have one beneficiary - Camp Unirondack’s Q***r Youth Advocacy Retreat! Most of vendors and we donate a portion of the proceeds to the retreat. If you want to learn more and donate, please come to the Information Booth!

HI COMMUNITY! 👋 We are still seeking some additional volunteers + Safety Team members for SUNDAY!

We are looking for 2-5 additional volunteers for set up (6AM - 10AM), kids tent + information booth volunteers (10AM - 4PM), and break down (4PM - 530PM). Kids Tent and Information Booth volunteers mostly have sedentary roles, answering questions and assisting with light activities. You may be asked to check on a vendor. There is a lot of time for breaks!

Safety Team Volunteers would arrive at 945AM for a brief orientation, and then they would rotate shifts during the market hours - 10AM - 4PM. There is a lot of time for breaks!

If able to assist with ANY of these shifts, please message us or email c@abiggaymarket. We will add you to a Signal chat to communicate on the day of the market!
