It’s Cyren here from A Big Gay Market 🧡 It’s finally A BIG GAY DECEMBER 🌈

It’s our second year being here for the holiday season and we have THREE markets with over 70 local q***r & gender expansive vendors, a slew of workshops, and a curated show of featured A Big Gay Market Vendors!

I know intimately that the holidays always make or break for small businesses. I remember working extra weekends, helping my mom make her inventory every day after school, and knowing that what we made this month determined our budget for the next several months ahead. And, now more than ever, this reality still rings true and I wish it didn’t. But, that’s one of the many reasons why ABGM exists.

A Big Gay Market is centered on bringing q***r and gender-expansive joy and showcasing the talent, magic, and spirit of our community without fear. And, as we learn that how we spend our money is an act of protest in a late capitalist society, it is a radical act to divest from large corporations and invest locally. Even more so, it makes an even larger difference to spend the money we have to spare on small businesses and mutual aid organizations owned and organized by the most marginalized and targeted in our country.

We can use the tools used against us to wield power back towards us, all the while, supporting our local makers and artists who make our world a little more joyous, a little more beautiful, and a little more tender. We need us to continue to gather because we keep each other safe, seen, and held 🫂

💜 Sunday, December 15th from 10AM - 3PM at Washington Park Lake House in Albany! We have a food truck and a mask only hour from 10AM - 11AM for this market.

💚 Saturday, December 21st from 11AM - 3PM at Context Collective in Troy! We also have gallery hours for additional shopping opportunities and workshops you can gift your loved ones or attend all month!

We are so happy to announce our vendors for our upcoming pop-up market at Albany Outpost on Saturday, December 7th from 11AM - 3PM! 🌈

🌈 Our beneficiary will be for this pop-up! We are passionate about food justice and ensuring that there is free and accessible food for ALL. Our vendors will be donating a portion of their sales to this imperative work and we will also have information available about how to be a monthly donor to Free Food Fridge Albany available during the market.

Please note: This market will NOT have a mask-only hour due to restrictions beyond our control - but we will provide free masks at the information table as always.

😷We are introducing a mask-only hour from 10AM - 11AM where all attendees, vendors, and volunteers will be masked to make the event accessible to those who are Covid cautious and immunocompromised. After 11AM, we will go back to our policy that masking is encouraged but not mandated. We will have masks available for FREE all day at the Information Booth.

Reminder! We do NOT have a community area nor a kids area for this market due to space restraints. We will have parking at the lake house available for all!

We can’t wait to join together in q***r & gender expansive JOY on Sunday, October 20th (Rain Date - Sunday, October 27th) at Washington Park Lake House from 10AM - 3PM!

We are introducing a mask-only hour from 10AM - 11AM where all attendees, vendors, and volunteers will be masked to make the event accessible to those who are Covid cautious and immunocompromised. After 11AM, we will return to our policy that masking is encouraged but not mandated. We will have masks available for FREE all day at the Information Booth.

Our Kids Tent Sponsor will be Tara from bringing her brainchild Creative Expression for Kids program to our market! We are SO thankful for Tara ❤

Our official photographer/videographer will be Shei Manon of ! We are so excited to have Shei with us again ❤
