I took an exciting, if slightly terrifying, step last week and went over to the Earth and Planetary Sciene Department at UNM to ask about their Paleontology Graduate Program.

My brain tumors, and my treatment, have taken a toll on me and I'm a bit scared to try my hand at a competitive grad school experience, again. However, I would like to try to attain my doctorate in my field, if I can. I've missed doing research. I've missed teaching. I've missed interacting with my scientific peers.

I'd love the chance to see if there's a place for me in the program at UNM in the coming semesters.

I'm preparing for my presentation to the E&PS Grad Program (and my hopefully pitch for a thesis topic) on Thursday the 9th... Meet Viviparus meeki (or Meeki for short). I can't do a talk without a plush on what I'm talking about. Wish me luck!

Due to the apocalypse, our wedding reception has been moved to Monday August 31, 2020.

Hopefully, that will allow this pandemic to run its course and .

Dear Cthulhu and the Elder Ones,

Could we stop the madness temporarily. I would just like to have my reception/handfasting, fly to Maui, get married, and not worry about some one shanking any of our loved ones for TP.

PS: If the madness continues we're seriously going to have to consider postponing all of this. Public gatherings are being severely frowned upon and the government looks like they're about to shut flights...

PSS: I know where Hello Kitty lives. I will tell her where you are Thulhu and give her hair bows!

Hello my Facebook friends and family,

I hope you're staying healthy and safe. Things have gotten kind of scary in the last couple days with people being panicky.

All public schools have shut down in the state. With the shut downs and changes going on with the Covid-19 virus pandemic in the last 24 hours, Angie and I are having to scramble to change our venue and flight plans last minute. Venue spaces that house over 100 people are closing (thankfully we are well under), but we're going to have make alternate space arrangments and we need to fly out of Albuquerque instead of driving and flying out of Phoenix (like we were originally planning).

I don't know how else to make these costly changes without $300 by Monday or completely cancelling everything. This was the worst time for these pandemic announcements to take effect.

And we're down to 10 days till the reception...

The state has suspended all public schools. Airports, rental car companies, vendors, and venues are sending out "what if" cancellation emails.

We're needing some magic on this Friday the 13th. Let's hear some good news for a change.
