That's a wrap folks! Thank you to everyone who competed in our contest and everyone who came out to support all these beautiful ladies!
A humongous thank you to Opheila Darling and Veronica Valiant, the hosts of this year's Dangerous Dames Pinup Pageant ! They did an amazing job on and off the stage! They spent a lot of time and put in a lot of effort behind the scenes getting ready for this Pageant! Thank you guys so much! 💓
Thank you to our judges, our good friend, Rebecca Nicke with Abernathy's, and who also designed our flyer/logo for us and a sponsor of this contest. Last but certainly not least, our 3rd judge, Becca! Becca is a life-long recycler and obsessed with preserving everything from vintage clothes to garbage. Her love affair with fashion started from learning to sew from her great grandmother. She has spent many years making her own clothes, burlesque costumes, wedding dresses and even garments that have graced the cover of magazines. She has spent the past 10 years supporting the pinup community through judging, hosting, sponsoring, and participating in pinup. She also is celebrating a decade at Abernathy's where they focus on vintage, handmade and weird.

Let's welcome our second Judge, Frankie Feminista! Frankie Feminista is an editor by day, but on nights and weekends she likes to get behind the camera and explore her creativity. She is half the dynamite duo and founder of Photography by Focal Points. A retro and pinup photography studio based out of Iowa City, IA. She is a lover of all things Mid Century and has an affinity for vintage skunks. She is also an avid collector of mcm glassware. She loves the fashion of the 50's but her true heart is a mod girl of 60's! Frankie is also the proud mom of two ferrets, Crash and Eddie.

6 days until the show and it's time to meet our Judges! Our first judge and last years winner, Goldie Frocks is a glittering glamour girl from Ottawa, IL. She taught herself to sew 7 years ago and has been chronically overdressed ever since. In fact, she just won best wardrobe during Viva Las Vegas! When not behind her sewing machine, you can find her twirling her dresses around the dance floor to rock n’ roll music, camping in her 1959 Siesta Travel Trailer, riding around in her husband’s 1954 Ford Crestline, and being the best chicken and dog mom around.

Please say hello to Your Hosts of this year's Pageant; Ophelia Darling & Veronica Valiant!
Ophelia Darling has been involved in pinup for many years and before that did, burlesque! You can find her now mostly at Focal Points Photography, where she creates beautiful and elaborate sets, helps with client's wardrobe and does an amazing job at making every client look and feel beautiful in front of the camera!

Veronica Valiant is Miss 2021 Dangerous Dames title holder and a teacher from Sherrill, Iowa. When she's not competing or wrangling a classroom full of 3-year-olds, you can find her playing video games, crafting, sewing and collecting weird old stuff. She's thrilled to be co-hosting this year's Dangerous Dames Pinup Pageant and can't wait to see what this year's gals show on stage!
These two have been working hard behind the scenes and we are so thankful for everything they are doing!
(We are switching things up this year, so Rubie Lee can focus on behind the scene stuff and at Odd Bettie's!)

Howdy! Welcome to the Wild, Wild, West, Dangerous Dames Pinup Pageant, Western themed Contest.

Information about this year's Pinup Pageant:
•Only 25 spots available for this contest (With two alternatives).
There is a $20 entry fee that must be paid by Aug 22nd.
It can be paid Via; Venmo- Oddbetties

Or cash or check, at Odd Bettie's in Aledo

This will guarantee your spot in the contest. *This fee is Nonrefundable. * (Entry fee will go towards top prizes and cash payout.)

•Please submit a photo you would like us to use for advertising for Facebook/Instagram to [email protected]

After I have received payment and an email from you, I will send you a bio form that I will need back as soon as possible. No later than Aug. 22nd. If your picture is not sent sooner, there is no guarantee that I would be able to use it for advertising.
•Must be 18 years or older.
•This is Western themed but not required. But Bonus Points will be added to the contestants that are in theme.
(Please do not bring large props that you cannot carry on and off stage yourself). There might be a few props already placed on stage that your welcome to pose with. 40's, 50's, and 60's looks are encouraged.
•On that note, this is a family friendly event. Please do not wear anything too revealing, or hoochie momma. And keep it clean. Anything deemed inappropriate, will be disqualified. •Check in is at 12pm at Odd Betties Boutique; 110 E Main St. Aledo, IL. 61231

•Contest starts at 1pm at the Band Shelter at Central Park. We will walk to the Band Shell together from Odd Betties, heading over there at 12:45.

Everyone will receive a number to wear on stage then return it to Odd Bettie’s and receive a goodie bag for participating.
