One of the most beautiful things about weddings is that no matter how many blogs you read, how many times you practice your first dance, or how perfectly you plan every detail, there’s always an element of unknown. There are “what ifs,” “I hopes,” and “better nots.” These unplanned moments are what make the day uniquely yours, and what makes your photos truly authentic.
Commit to enjoying yourselves, even if things don’t go exactly as planned. The day goes by so fast—one moment you’re getting dressed, the next, you’re dancing your last dance. Build a realistic timeline that lets you savor each moment, connect with loved ones, and laugh freely.
My couple pictured in this series had a timeline that was created so thoughtfully that the bride could walk to the venue from her hotel with her friends, sharing laughs along the way. She even bumped into , who happily stopped to chat and take photos! She was able to have meaningful first looks with her bridesmaids, her dad, and her soon-to-be husband, all without rushing.
If you want your wedding day captured in a genuine, documentary style, give yourself the space to breathe, pause, and truly live in the moment. Work with vendors who understand and support this approach. If you’re constantly rushing from one activity to the next, you might miss the magic. & what good are photos if you don’t experience the magic ?
