Designed to be a sustainable respite, each Glass Barn structure will be built to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver standards and will use an ultra-high-performance envelope to increase energy efficiency.

From a post-construction plan that focuses on non-toxic road maintenance products to keeping lawns to a minimum, which reduces the need for fertilizers and pesticide use, The Glass Barn has been designed to keep its footprint small and commitment to nature large.

Last week, the team met with fellow members of the Alton Business Association to share the vision behind The Glass Barn, answer questions and discuss the positive impact this project will have.

From the anticipated hundreds of thousands of dollars in local taxes generated each year, to working with local vendors and businesses, The Glass Barn is committed to supporting Alton’s already growing business community.
