What an incredible journey it has been! Serving over 300 couples has been a humbling experience, and now it's time to pass the baton.

Alejandra writes:

Adam and I met a few years ago at my workplace. I work as a waitress at a Mexican food restaurant and Adam was a regular customer. Our first date was March 27th 2023 and we just hit it off ever since. We were engaged on Christmas Day 2023.
We found Valley View Event Center while looking for venues online and we both liked it right away. Heather has been so nice and accommodating and I just love the fact that she includes all the services and helps you through the whole process. We can’t wait for our wedding day and to celebrate at this beautiful venue.

Meet Cassie and Austin our sweet couple of the week.

Facebook introduced a dating feature. I (Cassandra) had been on and off of it with more misses than hits and thought ‘I’ll give this one more try’.

I see this good looking guy in the profile pics and think ‘He’s kinda cute’ so I like his profile. I get a message that says ‘Hey Cassie, how have you been?’ My profile is under Cassandra so I’m asking myself how does he know me as Cassie, I look back through the photos and realize that hey I know him, it’s Austin, he and I went to high school together!!

After messaging back and forth for a few days Austin asked me out to breakfast and we had a good time (fought over the ticket and he won with gentleman logic, “I invited you out to breakfast, so I get the ticket.”) Afterwards we stood next to our cars talking.
Days and messages pass, and he invites me out again as we are talking, he grabs my hands and swings them back and forth (paraphrasing here) “Well I like you and I am pretty sure you like me too. Would you like to be my girl?” I had a permanent grin on my face the entire day!
We had been dating for a year to the day. That night Austin took me out on a date where he proposed.

As to why we chose Valley View, it’s a twofold thing; I saw how much my mom had busted her butt putting together my sisters wedding, and I didn’t want her to have to go through that stress and work again. So I had originally had decided to go with a church wedding. I had made an appointment to look at Valley View and forgot to cancel my appointment with Heather. My sister in all her snarky glory said, “I hope you like at the venue and absolutely fall in love with it” well here we are 😁

Meet our sweet couple of the week, Scott and Rita! We are so excited about the union of this couple.
Rita writes:♥️

These two love birds met online.

He saw her photo and hit the little heart, not knowing she went offline for a week. You see, she was waiting on the right man, and she hadn’t seen anyone she really admired on the dating site.

After she prayed, she decided to get on the site one last time. And there he was, with his selected heart, waiting patiently.

Once I replied to him, the rest was history. They talked, texted they met and even though distance was a factor, it was not an obstacle.

Every day they got to know each other more and more, until one day, Rita has read on Facebook that her friend Heather was needing help at a mock wedding for her venue.

Rita quickly became excited and told Scott that she wanted to help, but he’d have to help too. He agreed and Rita began looking for a dress to be able to be authentic in playing the role (in the mock wedding) of a bride.

She found the most beautiful dress at a yard sale only to get it for $45. This dress had an 8 foot train and fit perfectly.

The day before of the Mock Wedding Scott and I had to drop off the dress and get our own run through.

In that moment, Scott knew he’d like to propose at the Mock Wedding. So he asked Heather & she agreed he’d have his moment to shine.

The day came and all was planned. Rita in her dress and Scott in his suit. Once everyone was ready, the mock ceremony began.

In the middle of all the details that her guests were being given, Scott was given his que that his time was at that precise moment.

He got on his knee and asked me to marry him.

Oh how excited I was. I SAID YES!!!

And what better place to have it than at the exact spot where he proposed at the Valley View Event Center. Not to mention how much I LOVE the fact that it’s all inclusive.

We just get to worry about the fun details.

We picked a day that would be special. February 29th will be etched in history as the day our adventure continues as
husband and wife.♥️

Our hearts broken today, but wanted to share with you all.

Our sweet friend Margarita Acuña of Margarita Stitchery passed away peacefully at her home yesterday. Margarita was surrounded by her family and loved ones.

For years, Margarita has served our customers here at Valley View Event Center with all of their alteration needs.

Services will be posted soon by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. She did ask kindly that everyone wear bright or pastel colored for tops, no dark colors. She loved nature and her roses.

Her family would like to thank everyone for your support that was given when she had her business. She sent her love to all before she passed ✝️🌹🙏

Margarita will be so missed but will live on in all who knew and loved her. ♥️ Please help us celebrate a life well lived by wearing bright colors in her memory! ♥️🌹💐🌷

Spencer and I first met in May 2019. He had sent me a message on Facebook, and the rest is history. When I first met him, he greeted me with a dozen roses, and Taco Villa under the stars in his backyard. We talked until late at night, from music to tattoos, to kids, we talked about it all! My son and I moved in with him in June, and weve been inseparable ever since. We had our daughter in August 2020, and he proposed to me on my mom's back porch, recreating our first date on December 25, 2020.

We chose Valley View Event Center because it was the perfect country setting that I have always dreamed of. Heather has made everything so smooth and absolutely no stress! We can't wait to say I Do!

Our love story began when we met shortly after we both had moved back to Amarillo from Kansas and Dallas.

We started talking over a shared favorite author, Sarah J Maas, and fell in love fast. We bonded over our love for animals, anime, reading, and Pokemon Go.

We chose valley view because of the beautiful country view, sweet host, and how it simplified the wedding planning by being all inclusive.

Kaiden and I have known each other since we were in middle school, but we didn’t officially meet until he was life guarding at our favorite pool. After we both graduated high school, he posted something on Facebook where we called each other cute, and it took off from there. We planned our first date at the movies and became inseparable from then on. Here we are three years later, about to be married and planning our lives together.

When we started wedding planning, our main concern was finding the bigger aspects like a caterer and a DJ. After looking for a month we stumbled upon Valley View Event Center. We looked at pictures and reviews and decided to call to set up a tour, and we’re very happy we did. Heather has helped us not only with the big things, but the small details as well. She coordinates everything so well that it’s made wedding planning a breeze. We can’t wait to say I do here

Do you know what the cake cutting ceremony represents? The long time tradition has more meaning that most people know. When the couple comes in and they cut their cake, this is the first task that they’re doing as a married couple. When they feed each other, it represents that they are going to take care of each other for the rest of their lives. 💕

We’ve all seen where the couple smashes the cake in each others faces which usually ends with someone being upset and having a sticky face, clothes, and hair for the rest of the evening. Although it may seem funny, it really doesn’t do justice to the true meaning of the tradition.
So to add some fun here at Valley View Event Center, we offer our couples, “Cake in the Face” at the end of the night. We have two jars that we pass around one for the bride and one for the groom. The person that gets the most money in their jar gets cake in their face at the end of the night! This is all done and good fun and made to gain a couple more money for their honeymoon or the beginning of their marriage. By doing this, we get to pay tribute to the long time tradition while still having some fun.

Kevin and I met on bumble, he had his dog Dina in the photo with him and that's what initially drew me to him. I just had to meet her. We met for a walk in the park with Dina for our first date and seemed to just click right away. With both of us being active duty, it seemed a bit harder to get our schedules straight, but we began to spend as much time together as we could. Now we've been through all kinds of things together from deployments to surgeries and everything in-between and we couldn't imagine it any other way. Kevin proposed on Christmas Day right before we moved from North Carolina to Mississippi. We are so excited and ready to get married so we started planning  right away.

We chose to get married at Valley View because Heather has been so incredibly amazing from the very beginning. I'm from Amarillo, but we don't live here now so planning has been a bit more difficult. Heather has helped us through every bit of it and made sure that our wedding day would turn out amazing.

They say the best love stories happen when you least expect it, and that's certainly true for us. We don't remember exactly how we met, but one day Adrian was just there and now I couldn't imagine a world without him. Although we grew up in the same town, we weren't very close until after he graduated. At first, we were just friends who enjoyed the same things, and we thought a friendship was all we would ever have. It wasn't until a movie night with a mutual friend that we realized our friendship could be more. After a month of 'talking,' we finally shared our romantic feelings towards each other, and the rest is history. Over the past three years, we've been through a lot together, creating beautiful memories and overcoming hardships. We've grown emotionally and mentally together, and our love for each other is deep and unconditional. We've created a wonderful life together so far, and we're excited about what the future holds. That's why we've chosen Valley View Event Center as our wedding venue. From the moment we stepped on their property, we knew it was the perfect place for us. Heather and her staff have been amazing, taking care of every detail and providing us with great recommendations for vendors, decor, and even dance lessons! We can't thank them enough for making our special day unforgettable.

Jim and I met through mutual friends 26 years ago this summer at Ute Lake in Logan, New Mexico. After a few weeks of bashfulness on Jim’s part, we began dating and quickly fell head over heels for each other. Through a lot of love, commitment and determination, we successfully combined two families and now our family includes 6 children, their spouses and 13 grandchildren. Our life has been overwhelmingly blessed, and we would not change a thing.

When we decided to do a 25 year vow renewal I was drawn to Heather because from the moment I spoke with her on the phone she felt like a good friend. I know Heather and her team are going to take care of all the details of my special day, and all I have to do is relax and enjoy. ♥️

Eric and I met when we were 12. Long story short we went separate ways,but always wondered about the other through the years. Fast forward 10 years when we reconnected. Hearing from him brought the butterflies back to life. All of the feelings we had for each other had never left. The love we have poured into each other over the last 4.5 years has healed our hearts and brought us so close. Together we have accomplished so much and have such a beautiful family.
