Credentials
A wedding officiant is a person who leads a wedding ceremony. They must be legally recognized to do so by the state in which the wedding takes place.
Dawn was licensed by the State of Ohio on 12/21/2009.
One way to become licensed in Ohio is to be an ordained minister.
Dawn was ordained as the Reverend Dawn R. Bechtel by The Universal Life Church Monastery on 11/19/2009.

Ohio offers so many beautiful places to hold a wedding ceremony!
Where is your special place?
Dawn and her husband, Carl, were married in the middle of the woods by a beaver pond in Pymatuning State Park, Andover Ohio.
Difficulty finding an officiant to walk the path and perform the ceremony led to the decision for Dawn to pursue her ordination and licensing.

Legal Marriage
In order for a marriage to be legal, the ceremony must include the Declaration of Intent; you may recognize this as the "Do you take...? I do" exchange. The rest of the ceremony is up to you and your officiant, this is where you are free to let your personality shine! Your marriage license from the county where you will be married expires in 60 days. You must present this license to the officiant before the ceremony. No witnesses are required for an Ohio marriage.

Specializing in Non-Traditional
Dawn is happy to specialize in non-denominational ceremonies at non-traditional sites.
Churches have their own clergy. But anywhere else you will need an officiant.
Dawn will perform a ceremony for any denomination in the format you choose or a
non-denominational ceremony.
Remember you may exclude any part of a traditional ceremony except for the “Declaration of Intent” that makes the marriage legal.

Pre-Written – Customize - Create
Pre-Written ceremonies may be used as-is or can be customized by you. Dawn can create your ceremony from scratch or make suggestions based on your personality, hobbies and lifestyle.
You have final approval.

Wedding vows are also available for your use and customization or share your own thoughts and promises.

Marriage Renewals are a fun way to celebrate an anniversary or bring a renewed spirit to your marriage. It is not a legal ceremony and no license is required.

Married before? Your ceremony can celebrate a new love unique to the present and shaped by the past.

Fee
My fees are determined on an individual basis and are dependent upon the location, complexity and customization of your ceremony.
Included in your fee:
TIME to meet with you and customize your ceremony.
TRAVEL and mileage to and from your ceremony, rehearsal, any meetings, as needed.
EXPERTISE in organizing, choreographing and directing the rehearsal so your ceremony will flow smoothly.
COPY of your final ceremony with additional copies for anyone who takes part in the ceremony.
KEEPSAKE marriage certificate sometimes provided with your marriage license or one will be made.
LEGAL FILING of your solemnized marriage with the State of Ohio.
