Spotlight: Alyssa ✨ Alyssa’s story touched our hearts, and we’re so honored to have been part of her journey. Diagnosed with thyroid cancer at just 19, Alyssa found strength and community through the Cancer Support Community Center. Not only did she utilize their incredible resources as a survivor, but she also gave back as a volunteer during her undergraduate studies.

When it came time to find her wedding dress, Alyssa knew exactly where she wanted to go: The Brides Project. 💕 Her heartfelt connection to our mission made this moment even more special.

About Us

The Brides Project (TBP) opened in September 2011. TBP is a fundraising initiative of the Cancer Support Community. This unique project is staffed by volunteers and dedicated to raising funds for free programs for families impacted by cancer at the Cancer Support Community (CSC) of Greater Ann Arbor through the sale of donated bridal gowns. Once-worn gowns donated by brides or unsold gowns donated by bridal shops are available for brides-to-be to purchase at a considerable savings. All profits from the sale of the gowns go to the CSC to support programs and services for people touched by cancer.

Our inspiration to start this project came to us from Helen Sweet, who started The Brides Project in Canada. She graciously allowed us to take this idea to the United States. If you are a bride in Canada, please visit her website www.thebridesproject.com.

We offer a unique shopping experience in our boutique at 1677 Plymouth Road in Ann Arbor. Our gowns are very high quality and are offered significantly below market prices. We encourage appointments but walk-ins are also welcome during our open hours. Our volunteer bridal consultants will work with you to find just the dress for you!
