Our goal is to provide a setting for the regular performance of traditional Irish music in southeast Michigan. Our series hosts both local and out of town acts, new and seasoned artists. The kinds of music featured are the tunes and songs indigenous to Ireland, and sometimes neighboring lands like Scotland, or Wales, played on acoustic instruments - uilleann pipes, fiddle, accordion, and flute- to

name a few. We appreciate how traditional Irish music has inspired many other genres and sounds, but we feel it is important to introduce the roots of this music to a wider audience. Michigan has a vibrant traditional Irish music scene. We hope that Strayaway Child Concert Series will help introduce our traditional music to the greater community.

Our Story

Founded in 2015, Strayaway Child Concert Series was developed with a desire to create a setting for the regular performance of traditional Irish music in southeast Michigan. The kind of music featured are the tunes and songs indigenous to Ireland, and sometimes neighboring lands like Scotland, or Wales, played on acoustic instruments - uilleann pipes, fiddle, accordion, and flute- to name a few. Traditional music has inspired many artists across a wide range of musical genres. Strayaway Child Concert Series believes it is important to introduce the roots and origins of this music to a wider audience, and in turn help to preserve and perpetuate traditional music within our community.

Since its inception, the series has had the honor of showcasing the best traditional music has to offer, from emerging artists to legendary traditional musicians, hosting CD launches, and coordinating with the Detroit Irish Music Association to provide music workshops with performers.

Shows take place in the beautiful Celtic Room at Conor O'Neill's Traditional Irish Pub and Restaurant, located at 318 S. Main Street, the heart of downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Celtic Room provides and intimate setting, much like a house concert, but with amplification and more space. During concerts, waitstaff are available to provide table service, and Conor O'Neill's has a full menu to order from.

Admission is at door, cash or check only, please use pub entrance to the Celtic Room (left of bar). Parking is free on Sundays throughout Ann Arbor, and there is a municipal lot conveniently located behind the pub, off of S. Ashley Street.
