A Hallow’s Eve bedtime story:
Twas the night before Halloween and all through the lair, not a creature was stirring cept for the vampire slayer.
The bats were all hung in their caves with care in hope that a feast would soon be theirs.
The count and his family all tucked into their coffins, as the slayer approached quietly with caution.
And I, the angel of darkness rested my eyes atop of my perch, unbeknownst of the ominous danger which below did lurk.
When from across the graveyard there came a commotion, I arose and took flight in one swift motion.
Away to the crypt I flew like a dart, just as the slayer raised his dagger aimed for the Count’s heart.
The moonlight glistened off the countesses skin, I had to act fast if to save my slumbering Kin.
When what to my scanning eyes would show, but a giant werewolf and 8 tiny ghosts.
Within the shadows they quickly drew near, I knew in that moment we had nothing to fear.
More rapid than a banshee, the spirits appeared, they swooshed and they whistled as their chant became clear:
“Oh slayer, say a prayer, you’re time has come, oh slayer, say a prayer, your fate is something you won’t escape from…
Flee you may try, run if you must, we’ll catch up, catch up with one gust!”
And with that the slayer did bolt, he dropped his dagger and in his tracks he left smoke.
But down the path he’d be met by a beast, and his claws and his grasp and his sharpened teeth.
It didn’t take long for the effects to set in, the changes started with the ripping of skin.
Then came his spindly fur and the gnash of his jaw, and his size grew rapidly to 10feet tall!
When the transformation ended and the changes were complete, a new wolf for the pack rose to his feet.
Together two wolves howled in tune to a bright and defined full harvest moon, and the ghosts they danced to the ear piercing tune.
The slayer was now one of the immortal, his maker now stronger and never remorseful. After one last howl I heard them call as they marched out of sight, “Happy Hallows Eve, and to all a frightful night….”
