We can file this under oldies but goodies 🥰 I no longer design in a way that would ever smash a dahlia or garden rose so maybe someday I will recreate this one. If you asked me the design approach I now prefer I would tell you it is to embrace the life cycle of a flower. To demonstrate how local, garden grown blooms can be luxury while honoring their natural growth habits and tendencies. Although I am no longer designing full scale weddings on a consistent basis I still very much love floral design. If you appreciate colorful, garden-inspired floral you can probably pique my interest in creating for your special day 🥰🫶🏻🌸

I’m all about elaborate floral ceremony backdrops, but sometimes a simple, organic approach is perfect! This is not something typical you would see in the gorgeous space. I styled this for with the approach of introducing natural materials like wood. These are foraged branches thoughtfully used in eclectic glass containers. A slightly bohemian rug and wooden slate chairs completed the styling.

I genuinely love designing centerpieces for your reception. I realized I don’t talk about that enough. The flip side of that coin is that I don’t always get incredible photos of them either. This is where that second shooter comes in handy when you book your photography. Local blooms are everything 😍 A preview for the upcoming wedding in August. These blooms are headed for my sister in law’s bridal shower on Saturday. I LOVE that she wanted colorful styling! I rarely work with lilies. In fact, I didn’t like them. BUT then I saw and ordered these deep maroon lilies and fell in love. The added the most amazing drama to this beautiful bridal bouquet. And perfectly suited the style musings of the gorgeous bride! Miss July, thank you for being a muse for lilies. You & they have a special place in my heart now ❤️

There’s been a serious lack of content on here lately. I know this. But my passions are leading me elsewhere. It’s planting season at my farm so any spare minute I have I’m outside. And that’s where I truly want to be. I love it so much. I love floral design too. I just won’t have as much to share on here with only taking about ten weddings each season for the past two years. I’m envious of the designers I follow and are friends with because I wish that was still me in a way. Kicking out gorgeous events one after another. I have a new calling now. Yes I love growing flowers but it’s more than that. I’m an ambassador for our Earth. You can’t put your hands in the dirt, grow something and not feel some kind of way about her. I’m proud of the start of my second year of growing. Proud to be making clever choices like adding plants for beneficial insects, feed the birds, bring the snakes, the toads. Hell, bring them all! I want my garden to be their Mecca and they can all live in harmony. We’ll get there someday!

In the meanwhile I still have amazing couples I have been truly blessed to meet and design their wedding days. I’m very much dedicated and can’t wait to create beauty for them. This year there will be much more used from my own garden. 🥰

Ethereal spring blossoms for the perfect ceremony backdrop.

Just a little farm update! Things are moving slowly but surely. We will scramble to plant, wait and then flowers will explode all at the same time 😂 Follow my adventures and future blooms at @the_ever_lea 🥰

That giant fan in the background made this a more comfortable set up. Good lord, this one was a STUNNER. Tropical greenery, gold painted monstera & robellini accents, white orchids, pampas grass, anthurium, anemones and nude-blush Quicksand roses. Summer Synder with @weddingsbynancy outdid herself in bringing this wedding together. It was my honor to design for Marena & Steve. Thank you @on_a_whim_events for the breathtaking canvas we used to create this day!

My Story

I began this adventure in February 2015 shortly after planning & having my own wedding. As a small child I would dream of one day opening a wedding super center, and often found myself dabbling with flowers, crafts, art, home décor, holiday projects, photography, you name it! I don’t think I ever thought I would actually start a wedding business when I grew up, but I could not be more content & proud of myself as a woman entrepreneur.

I LOVE meeting new couples and hearing about their personal vision of their wedding day. I can picture it as they write or speak. And then to be able to take flowers and evoke that dream, that vision is my happiness! It never, ever gets old for me to see each and every couple’s big day come true and come to life. Because it lives in our minds only for SO long!

I just want to continue to grow within my craft, build satisfying relationships with my couples and have this be my amazing job for as long as I can possibly still derive joy from it! You can bet I am excited to hear from and begin the process of showing how flowers can give you that incredible added touch to your day! Have you ever envisioned a photograph from a wedding without flowers in it? There’s just something about those flowers that makes it all come full circle. That, “ahhhh...this is just right” feeling; the cherry on the wedding sundae.
