Tomorrow - August 1 - is the final day to have your transfers in for junior show eligibility at the fall regional and national shows! (Harrisburg, Western National, World Dairy Expo, All American Jersey Show)

A reminder that mailed entries for the WI Summer Championship Show series need to be postmarked tomorrow, August 1.

Online entries will be accepted until 11:59 pm on Monday, August 7.

Updated rule for 2023:
Animals entered for the Wisconsin Summer Championship Show Series must reside in Wisconsin at least 30 days prior to show day and are not to be shown at any other state’s State Show. If an exhibitor is found to have broken this rule, the case will be brought before the WHA Board for review and all parties involved will be subject to punishment of a monetary penalty and/or barred from showing at any WHA sponsored show for no less than 1 year.

Animals entered for the Wisconsin Summer Championship Show Series must reside in Wisconsin at least 30 days prior to show day and are not to be shown at any other state’s State Show. If an exhibitor is found to have broken this rule, the case will be brought before the WHA Board for review and all parties involved will be subject to punishment of a monetary penalty and/or barred from showing at any WHA sponsored show for no less than 1 year.

Great Opportunity for Dairy Judges - deadline today April 13, see below

Calling all dairy cattle judges!

April 27 will present a unique opportunity for would-be Wisconsin county fair dairy cattle judges to join the Holstein Association USA Judges Conference. The 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. session will include judging classes as well as classroom time at the Alliant Energy Center and the Clarion Suites in Madison, Wis.

Although the event is designed for would-be Holstein judges who want to be included on the Holstein Association USA Judges List, this event will also serve as a foundation for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture Trade and Consumer Protection judge’s application and listing as a dairy judge for its county fairs.
Past Wisconsin Holstein Association and Holstein USA President Corey Geiger will be on hand to help individuals complete the DATCP paperwork at the end of the judges conference.

All dairy cattle breed judges are welcome. Early registration at $50 closes on April 13. After that date, the registration cost moves to $100.

Jersey Junior Exhibitors plan to attend the Junior Social or Judging Contest at State Show. Jersey Showmanship is at 6pm on Wednesday August 24 you can sign up for showmanship at check in time.

Lots of premier county points are earned during State Show, so be sure to participate in the many events the JAC’s have going on!

Looking for volunteers for the Jersey (start time 1 pm) show on Thursday August 25. Jobs we are looking for are ring help (placings etc) and ring clean up during the show. The show is held at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.

Camping at Alliant
Camping is available at the Alliant Energy Center for $35/night. You will need to self-register your camper upon arrival. The kiosk for this can be found at the Northeast corner of the north lot.
