Capturing the Spirit of the River...
...Free flowing, untamed, and timeless. Sitting at his desk in a dusty old furniture store, staring at endless piles of invoices, sales reports, and receipt files, Dustin Uhrig heard the doleful ticking of the clock intensify with the dreadful indication of another 7 hours ‘til freedom. “What the hell am I doing”, and boom: the genesis of Poelico Arts Festival. Dusty’s long term relationship with a healthy music addiction, several REALLY talented and creative friends, and living in the kick ass town of Asheville formed the perfect recipe for this beautiful creation. The fest was dubbed ‘Poelico’ to honor our River; it is that timeless, untamed, free-flowing passion that is the driving force of the very creativity we gather here to celebrate. Going into its 3rd year in 2020, Poelico Arts Festival continues to grow into what it aims to become, a staple of Asheville’s creative, unified, and fun-loving community. We hope to see you on the River!
