Our senior community is in great need of help and donations. M & I have been working with Land of Sky Area Agency on Aging, delivering supplies and food to our seniors. We are teaming up with the ASPCA (Melissa’s company)and coordinating pet food delivery for Buncombe County and surrounding areas.
My heart is with our seniors, and if you know of someone in need, please get in touch with me! I can assist with resources.
The North Carolina Association on Aging (NCAOA), North Carolina Coalition on Aging (NCCOA), and North Carolina Association of Area Agencies on Aging (NC4A) are reaching out to you today with a heartfelt request for support as we come together to help older adults and aging service providers recover from the recent devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. The beautiful region of Western North Carolina has been hit hard, and the need for assistance is urgent.
As you may know, Hurricane Helene brought heavy winds and torrential rain, leading to severe flooding and widespread damage across Western NC. Many families have lost their homes, businesses have been disrupted, and essential services have been affected. In the wake of such destruction, it is crucial that we unite to provide support and resources to those in need.
To aid in the recovery efforts, NCAOA, NCCOA and nc4a will raise funds for the Area Agencies on Aging in Western NC, which have the greatest need. All proceeds will go directly to providing relief. We aim to raise funds to assist older adults with their basic needs and support local aging service providers working tirelessly on the ground.
Your support, whether it’s a financial contribution or spreading the word within your networks, is invaluable. Every dollar raised will play a significant role in helping communities in Western North Carolina heal and rebuild.
We have created a Hurricane Relief webpage and are now accepting donations.
Together, we can make a difference and show the resilience of Western North Carolina.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to support Western NC’s older and disabled adults during this challenging time.
