To cook the perfect steak, start by choosing a quality cut of meat and letting it come to room temperature. Season the steak generously with salt and pepper on both sides. Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat until it is very hot. Add a tablespoon of oil and swirl to coat the pan. Add the steak and cook for 3-4 minutes without moving it. Flip the steak and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium-rare. Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
