Creamy Creole Sauce
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 green bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Creole seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Directions:
1. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
2. Add onion, bell pepper, and celery. Sauté for 5–6 minutes until softened.
3. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
4. Add Creole seasoning, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
5. Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1–2 minutes.
6. Pour in heavy cream and broth, then bring to a gentle simmer.
7. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens.
8. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
Storage Information:
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently before serving.
