Still dreaming of summertime with these two. They just got hitched and it made me want to go back through their engagement photos because it’s one of my favorite sessions. There was just a handful of us in the park and we watched the sun set over the mountains. The best best day!!!

Elizabeth and Lilly’s day was one I dreamed of shooting when I first started out. A day with no stress, the most incredible florals, one of my favorite venues, and the very best people to make it special. I cried pretty much all day just watching their families interact with each other. They are each full of so much love. I felt so grateful getting to witness it all.

First of many special moments over the last few months.

These two came to me with their minds set on a downtown elopement. We timeline planned, hammered out the details, and then they let me know they had a change of heart. “𝐈𝐟 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬, 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐈 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭.” Music to my ears!!! So we pivoted. I sent them a list of locations and of course they chose my favorite spot. We met at the bottom and we were the only ones at the top when we pulled in. The sun was shining, it was the perfect temp out, it was the week peonies were blooming so I was able to make her dream bouquet. Couldn’t ask for better. We watched the sun set behind the mountains and shared cake and talked about life before hiking back down with our lanterns. Every day I get to spend here is one of my favorite days.

Hi friends! I’ve been MIA for a while and I’ll be totally honest, I needed a break. We lost our pup super unexpectedly and life just hasn’t been the same. He was my whole world and I have felt lost without him here. But if there’s anything else in this world that brings me joy it’s having a camera in my hand. I can’t even explain what it has meant to me the grace that my clients have shown me. They gave me time away from work, checked in on me, and have made me feel so comforted. I can’t thank y’all enough for that. I know galleries have been getting out slower lately, and I’m so grateful for clients who have allowed me to be in the right headspace to show up for them. I’m slowly but surely catching back up and busting out galleries and trying to navigate life without my boy. I’m going to start catching up on sharing some galleries from all of the beautiful things I have captured lately. See y’all soon.

Show up at the courthouse with one plan: explore together ➡️ get to shoot inside the cutest bar AND museum which if you’re a photographer you know is damn near impossible on a whim like this 💀 I died inside!!! We had the best time roaming around the square and then I married them right there in an alley. A dream. No stress, no people, just a great time and lots of love.

These are going a lil viral on Pinterest so I figured I’d share them here again since it’s almost Valentine’s Day. I love this session so much and it all started with a small cake I saw my friend share. As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to create a session around it and these two were the perfect couple to bring it to life. It was their first anniversary so they shared the rest of the cake at home just like tradition. I’m not a city girl at all but I’ve been loving city sessions lately and exploring little coffee shops and corners and alleys with you guys. 💌

Missing the mountains, might have to make a little day trip. Something about waking up to the fog rolling over them, heading down to a tiny little town and getting coffee and saying hello to everyone you pass… what dreams are made of if you ask me.

My girl Liz 🫶🏻 I feel like I hit the jackpot with every wedding I book as far as clients go. Whether it’s an elopement with just us, or a 200 guest list wedding, the couples are what seriously make the whole day for me. If you’ve ever had a phone call with me about booking, then you know how important it is to me that you book someone you would be friends with, not just someone who takes photos that you like. After all, you’re spending the entire day with this person. And from our first phone call, Liz got me. By the end of their wedding I felt more like a guest, celebrating two people I loved dearly. I think approaching wedding days with this in mind allows me to do my job to my best ability, feeling like my clients get me and I get them. We have a common vision, we’re comfortable with each other, the day just flows when we’re all on the same page. I stay in touch with almost every single one of my couples after wedding day and feel like I’ve made so many friends through this job which is just the freaking coolest.

Private vows + first touch

Almost every couple asks for my opinion on first looks. Some want to go the traditional way, groom doesn’t see bride until she’s walking down the aisle. Some choose to do a first look and calm their nerves beforehand. But one of my favorite ways is the in between. It’s amazing how simply touching your person can calm your fears, even without seeing them. Reading private vows is a great way to have that special moment without the anxiety of doing it in front of everyone, which can be super overwhelming for people- including myself! This options really gives you the best of both worlds- a moment for just the two of you before the ceremony, where you’ve been waiting all morning to talk to your person. Without taking away that special feeling of seeing each other at opposite ends of that aisle.

The most important part of a wedding day is making it all about YOU. How do you envision your day? Where is it? What does it look like, what does it FEEL like? This day felt like the best garden party picnic sitting on top of the clouds in a tiny mountain town- ever. I love when couples ditch the norm and create their version of a perfect day. Whether that’s a huge wedding with 200+ guests or running to the mountains with no one but your photographer, you’ll never regret spending your day exactly as you envisioned it instead of listening to what everyone else thinks you should do. A perfect day can look drastically different depending on the person, but I’ve always captured the best images when clients listen to whatever that means for them. When they are completely free and staring at their person and they know they listened to their hearts fully. It’s best feeling in the world and I promise your photos will show that, so choose wisely!
