I grew up in an area where the city was full of all sorts of cultures, just a complete SMORGASBORD of ETHNIC foods, New Haven (Connecticut) to u, but to those of us from the far North it's known as ELM CITY, hometown of YALE, part of the TRI-STATE area, just 45 min. There I grew up with so many different foods, SoulFood, Jamaican, Italian, Greek, Chinese, Japanese. It was a place where I could ge

t FRESH FRIED FISH that came straight from the Long Island Sound or Housatonic River. Yep as they say, home of the 1st Hamburger and Pizza. The place where there are so many pizza restaurants but all of them vary in their own flavors (BRICK OVEN). From a child to an adult I grew up with a passion for food,
from waking up in the morning to the smell of fresh hot coffee and toast with a bowl of hot cereal (Cream of Wheat or Wheatina), to the memories of cold early freezing mornings with my mother holding my hands on the way to dropping me off to daycare, walking through the early dark morning neighborhoods smelling the cold brisk air mixed in with the aromas of scrambled eggs, fresh bread and hot coffee coming from the mom and pop dinners that were up extra early getting ready for that early morning rush of customers who needed a hot coffee or hot cheese egg sandwich to keep them warm on their way to work. Yes I grew up in LUV, within a family that had the gift of showing it (LUV) through food. And with that ability being passed on down to me, I am so pleased that I can share the LUV OF MY PEOPLE with the people (my IzzyBites)

Why doesn't Doritos sell the same product everywhere?

I could have marked almost every ingredient RED as Doritos in any country are made with ingredients I wouldn't want to eat - but the Doritos in America are far worse...

American Doritos are covered in artificial dyes made from petroleum (Red #40, Blue #1, and Yellow #5). These dyes have been found to be contaminated with carcinogens, such as benzidine.

In the U.K., these dyes require a warning label that says “May Have an Adverse Effect on Activity and Attention in Children". No one wants to put that on their product! That's why they don't use them in Doritos overseas and instead color Doritos more simply with paprika extract and annatto.

Companies don’t want to slap warnings all over food packages because that wouldn’t be good for business. Instead, they’ve found that it is more profitable to take out the offending dyes and sell a safer product in other countries. They keep selling the inferior version here because it’s cheaper to produce and they can get away with it.
