While our hospitality industry celebrated one of the most prestigious nights of the year at the ALLIES awards, the event was not as bright as it could have been, given the loss of one of our own. Our dear friend Dennis Retzleff’s absence was deeply felt.
Dennis was a talented leader, visionary and guiding force within Dennis Dean Catering, and with his passing there will forever be a void within our industry. Our thoughts are with the Dennis Dean catering family as they navigate through this challenging period.

We are thrilled to announce that AFFAIRS to REMEMBER is the recipient of two : The Best-Off Premise Catering Event: Love + Soul, A Culinary Journey of Connection and Diversity, which was produced by Saffold Barksdale, and Steve Moore is the recipient of the Allie Foundation Legacy Award for Innovation. We are especially proud of Saffold who served as the food and beverage chair for this event. She worked tirelessly on the Allies planning team, bringing her logistical expertise to the table, ensuring the event ran to its optimal potential.

Steve is also actively involved with the National Society of Black Wedding and Event Professionals and will be sharing his expertise later this month at the Catersource Conference in Florida, where he’ll speak on how to deliver a full-service luxury experience.
